He'd died to save her. And she'd never loved him, always letting him know that too. He knew she didn't love him, he knew she loved someone else, but he'd died for her anyway. She sobbed hysterically as Dusk seemed satisfied and grabbed Anscom. Apparently, Pyxis wasn't even allowed to have the body of her boyfriend who she now realised that she could've loved, that she was beginning to fall in love with. And now he was gone forever, her one bit of happiness, cruelly ripped away from her without her being able to protest at all. Dusk twirled on her heel and said something like 'I'll be back for you later' and then she was gone. Pyxis forced herself upwards and stumbled towards the wall, leaning against it. Her world span wildly, and it was a wonder she didn't splinch herself as she apparated outside Hogwarts and collapsed on the ground, gripping her head.

The world span wildly again, and she felt her stomach churn painfully. She wanted to throw up, she couldn't believe how disgusted she felt with herself, for allowed this to happen. She forced herself up onto shaky legs, taking several minutes to be able to steady them enough to walk. She wasn't sure how she made it up the long path, to the castle, through the doors. She didn't know how the fuck she managed to scale all those stairs and stumble through the doorway into the Professor's Quarters. Her eyes were sore and she just wanted to sob, but she needed someone to hold her. Who? She couldn't disturb Alcyone, it just didn't feel right. She needed someone who... she wasn't sure what, but Alcyone wasn't it. Besides, she possibly had Noah and the twins with her, and she didn't want to disturb a bunch of babies. It was late. What time was it? She wasn't sure. She looked down at her watch.

Wow. Only 5 past 9. And here she was thinking it was nearly midnight. Her stomach churned again and she had to lean heavily against the wall for support. Holy fuck, she felt like she was dying. Her heart ached painfully, her chest constricted - no she couldn't have another heart-attack. She focused on her breathing, making sure it relaxed. Once it had to the point she could actually breath semi-normally, she stumbled towards the smaller half-staircase and climbed. There was only one person she needed right now, and she didn't just want to be in his arms. She needed him like she needed air to breathe. She was stupid to think she could survive without him. And now Anscom, the only man she MIGHT be able to love other than Parker, had died for her. She shoved the door open and cringed as it slammed against the wall. She stepped in and didn't even look at him as she shut the door behind her and stood still, facing it for a moment. There was a tense, awkward silence before she turned back around and slumped against the door, sobbing as she wrapped her arms around herself. "P-P-P-Parker, please, he-help me-e-e," she choked out.

Parker was sitting on his bed, with his back to the door. He was looking out the window, taking in the sight of the grounds. He leaned his head down, his elbows on crossed knees, and rested his face in his hands. He groaned. Everything felt so out of control. He hardly knew what was going on anymore and from the past days lack of sleep and abundance of nightmares when he did, he could hardly tell the difference between dreams and reality. it was honestly the worst feeling...and he didn't know what to do about it.

He felt so on the edge, about to tip over. He didn't know why exactly or what might set him over it, but the collective shit that seemed to be happening was just too much to properly handle and cope with, so he hadn't been. He'd just been sitting around in his room or mindlessly wandering in the hospital wing. Hardly ever leaving the 5th floor except for his classes. Parker groaned again, feeling bile rile in his throat. He hadn't eaten a proper meal in abut as long as he had a proper night's sleep. And when he actually tried to eat a full meal, he just got sick. The nightmares weren't helping with that either to be honest.

He ran both hands through his hair. When the door very suddenly and very loudly slammed open, hitting against the wall, he startled terrible, making a sound in the back of his throat as he spun around on his bed, and nearly fell off. He just about yelled out at her, but as she stood so still and silently as she closed the door he held back. His heart was still racing though, as he felt something was so very wrong as she stood against the now closed door. He stood up from his bed, taking a step to her and stopping, not able to even ask if she was okay. He startled again as she turned around, shaking and sobbing as she fell down against his door. He immediately shot down, scrambling next to her. He could hear his heart eating rapidly in his ears as he pulled her close. Something felt so terribly wrong, there was something so broken inbetween her sobs he almost started crying too. He just sat there, holding her tight in his arms, knowing there was no need for words with her. There was nothing he could say because he didn't know why it was she was so a hysterical, devastated mess. He wasn't sure he wanted to know.

Pyxis had never been so emotionally fucked up in her entire life. Sure, she cried a LOT, but this was different. They were always just a few tears streaming down her cheeks, out of anger or frustration or upset, but this time they poured down like an endless river and her sobs were so broken because she'd lost someone she actually cared about - and it was all her fault. Dusk hadn't wanted Anscom, he'd wanted her. If she'd just immobilised Anscom so she could fight Dusk, he'd still be alive and with her. She'd still have her happiness.

Now it was gone and she was that empty shell again who craved Parker because he was the only one she had. She didn't want to come crawling back to him, she'd wanted to end whatever the fuck this was forever so he could be happy without her. But now that she'd lost Anscom, she couldn't fathom leaving Parker's side ever again. She felt like he cared when he dropped to the ground, and his arms were a source of comfort that she could find in no other as they wrapped around her. She buried her face against his chest, knowing no words were needed. His comfort was all she needed, to know that it was not the end of the world.

The anxiety Parker felt had him on edge. He could hardly stand to sit still as he clutched on to her for dear life. It was painful, that feeling in combination with concern for her. He had seen plenty of ER patients in hysterical fits to know she could be a huge danger to herself and others, especially with her not-quite-under-control abilities. Parker needed to trust whatever it was about him that calmed her down enough to not burn down everything around her. Trust in whatever it was to make this better. Because he certainly had no idea what was even wrong.

As much as a part of him wanted to give a consoling word, his throat was dry, swollen-feeling because if he made a wrong breath it could upset her further, that's how it always was with her. As she clinged back, silent save for sobs wracking her frame, he knew it was best he just keep quiet. She just needed something to hold on to to keep her from drowning from what ever it was threatening to sink her. And a thought came to him: what if he had just reached out for this sort of...life preserver when he needed it most.

He closed his eyes, even more determined remain a stable pillar for her to lean against. But his own weariness made it difficult. His hand held behind her head thread through her hair in a comforting motion as he waited out her hysterics, his body aching with anxiety and panic.
