Another case, was done; she sighed in relief as she took off her cloak and was out of her usual uniform. She wiped some dirt from her face and knew that she felt glad to be back to their department. She had worked the case alone, as usual and as she preferred it, but it did come with frustration on her bosses' part now that she refused to have a partner.

"Coffee"

That's the first place she went; she didn't care if she looked exhausted and hell, she needed a good amount of caffeine. After arguing against a stubborn ass, she just needed some coffee to end this day.

Seeing someone there, she stopped for a second and leaned against the frame. Well she wasn't expecting him, and waited to be noticed.

Daedalus had recently gotten back to the office after a lengthy case. The case was a complete waste of time, it was a fake tip about some Dark One activity in Glasgow. He was extremely irritable, and was glad to be back in London. Yet he was not looking forward to the paperwork from this case...

He promptly went to the Auror's department and to his office. He put done is rucksack, and took off his traveling cloak. Wandering around his office he ran his hand through his hair, he had absolutely not ambition or energy to write his report. He needed some coffee. He walked down to the break room, and found the place empty, which was alright, some time alone is nice.

Making a cup of coffee he heard some footsteps in the hallway coming towards the break room. He had hoped whomever it was, was just going to get some coffee and leave. On the contrary however, as he turned to see who it was, he was pleasantly surprised. It was Aria, probably the only face he doesn't mind seeing at this time.

"Aria, what a pleasant surprise, how have you been?"

Aria smiled, surprised he even remembered her name, considering that last time they met he had run before she could even utter anything more. She stood straighter and moved away from the door frame walking in to make some coffee.

"Pretty good, simply coming back from a case" she said sighing. "You look better than I do, got stuck in the office?"

She was surprised at the amount of interacting she was doing. More surprising than anything was that she wasn't even putting effort, it was actually...natural. How disturbing.

Daedalus was rather surprised to hear her say more than a couple of words. He finished making his coffee he took a seat at one of the tables. Watching her make her coffee. She looked like hell, must have been a hell of a case.

"Actually no, I just got back myself, I was away in Glasgow on what turned about to be a fake tip about some Dark Ones," he said with great remorse.

Sipping some of his coffee, he looked at the table and sighed.

Aria wished she had gotten a false case as he did. Part of her was a bit self-conscious about looking like...well like shit. But she completely ignored it, and she had little to no shame when it came to her appearance. She viewed herself as one of the boys; since the beginning she was a tomboy and even now, as the adrenaline died down, she needed to get an energy boost.

"Lucky you" she drawled out. "I got stuck in France dealing with the remnants of Beauxbatons and got in a bit of a duel with some Dark One, he managed to escape before I could hex him properly."

She wrinkled her nose remembering that she had been rolling around the debris, and wet ground when dueling.

"Wasn't fun"

Daedalus wished he had actually gotten a duel, he felt as if he was getting rather rusty, and things began to get dull. He had finished his coffee, but was enjoying the company actually, and decided to stay and chat. He had been looking forward to the time he got to see Aria again, he had intrigued his interests. She seemed different from a lot of women he had met lately.

He really needed a friend, and someone to finally talk to, intelligent human interaction was scarce lately.

"Aria, would you like to have dinner?" he bluntly asked, with a slight lump his throat.

Aria was sipping her coffee, and wrinkled her nose as she noticed it was stronger than expected. She put more cream and smiled brightly once it was sweetened to her liking. She took a long sip, not minding the silence too much.

She was honestly surprised by his question, and she let out an involuntary smile. She looked down on herself noticing how messy she looked and he honestly wanted to go to dinner with her? She bit her bottom lip and let out a small chuckle.

"Why not" she replied smirking. "You're buying"

Daedalus nearly fell out of his chair when he heard her answer. He had been used to being turned down many times, and wouldn't have been surprised if Aria did as well. He was met with a much better answer, not an excited yes, but 'why not' will do. A nice night out will be nice.

"Sounds like a plan, tomorrow night around 8 sound good?"

He got up to make another cup of coffee, he did need to get that paperwork done, but he knew he needed another cup if he was going to be able to finish it.

Aria chuckled at his reaction, honestly it wasn't that well hidden. She winked and stopped leaning against the counter. She was relieved it wasn't tonight, after all, she was exhausted and not the most clean nor attractive at the moment.

"Sounds like a date" she said.

She winked his direction and walked towards the door frame. Before she could even stop herself, she turned around to face him once more. He was amusing; and tolerable, that was a feat in itself when it came to her.

"I have to do some paperwork..owl me the details?" she said biting her lip before walking off.

Daedalus was beaming her mentioning it was a 'date'. Sadly he hadn't been on a nice date in a very long time. As surprising as it was to his friends during his time at Hogwarts, he was rather unsuccessful with girls. He was always shy, and didn't know what to say whenever he was around a girl he fancied. With Aria however he felt more at ease, he didn't understand why.

"I'll send one off to you before I leave today," he replied with a smile.

He got up and followed her out the door to his own office, he couldn't procrastinate the paperwork any longer. He knew his boss was waiting for the report, as uneventful as it was.

Before he left for the night he sent an owl to Aria stating to meet him at 'Wands of Legend' around 8 o'clock, and that he was looking forward to some meaningful conversation.
