| Class List: Carey Matthews October Williams Jamie Wright Sophie Robin Aislin Swandeth Halcyon Dumbledore Olivia Harrison Parker was already standing at the front of the classroom hands clasped behind his back, his messy scrawl on the board and for some reason he was dressed a bit nicer then he had the other classes, his hair also less messy. Though his face looked gaunt and eyes tired. He couldn't get any sleep last night, and spent the time preparing his lesson instead. He also figured he needed to make sure he kept up at least a semblance of put togetherness. The students needed the support and help after the attack, and having a professor and school healer look like a nervous wreck wouldn't help them the slightest. His eyes looked over the desks and he sighed as they students began to come in. He looked at the board and shook his head, not even able to read it himself. He turned and walked over, rewriting it slightly neater. Hearing the students take their seats he began to speak, his voice sounding low and monotonous. "Unfortunately we aren't going to be going over the oh so exciting technology lesson this year. Something to look forward to in the future though." He sighed and turned back to the class, he had originally planned going over some of the muggle wars, but the last thing these kids needed was to hear that word. But better sooner then later when things might be worse. He looked down, the board reading "Muggle Conflict". He started to pace. "I know you all are probably sick to death of this, and I was planning on putting this lesson of, but lets just get though it, shall we." He cleared his throat, putting his hands in his pockets. "Muggle conflicts...wars if you want to call them. They fight them somewhat differently, but we can learn so much from them. As they say, you can learn from the past. As we've talked through the year, we've seen that Muggles and Muggle Culture isn't so different. Not even in the idea of conflict. So, I'd hate to ask this from you, but can anyway tell me anything about Muggle conflicts and what caused it in the first place?" He looked around at them with sad eyes. He hated to have to bring this up. He remembered how he always hated history of magic class because that was ever talked about was war this and war that. Not comforting in the slightest when in the throws of conflict yourself. |

| Sophie walked into class and sat down near the front. She almost groaned aloud. She didn't wan to talk about war. Couldn't they learn about computers. She didn't really want to think about it now given the battle where she had luckily escaped with nothing more than a twisted ankle. Which was from her heels.
"Well wars start for tons of diffrent reasons. Politics, cultural, stupid people doing stupid things." She said listing a few. |

| Jamie entered the class and took a seat at the front - much like the other Gryffindor in the classroom. She gave her a warm smile before turning her gaze to Healer Emery as he began the lesson. She listened to him with interest. She grinned as he said they weren't going to be going over technology and she felt a sudden longing to go on the internet. She hadn't been able to go on the internet in so long, and she missed it quite a bit. She shook her head and sat quietly.
Jamie nodded her head in agreement with Sophie and raised her own hand hesitantly. "Um, mostly religion causes war, and land. Often, the catholic's fight with the muslims and the likes, and then the countries get involved and these massive wars break out over it... It's horrible, really." Jamie said quietly.

| Halcyon entered the classroom and saw a fellow Gryffindor, Sophie, if he remembered correctly and a Hufflepuff, Jamie. He had tried to remember everyone's name, but it was a bit difficult to keep track. Either way, he took a seat in the middle of the room and listened as Healer Emery started explaining about wars, so neatly disguised as conflicts by him. Halcyon was sick of war, and after the battle, he really just wanted to go up to the dormitory and sleep the whole year away. But he couldn't do that.
He sighed and listened as the two girls offered their answers, and then he rose his own hand. "Like both of them were saying, wars usually come from politics, land and religion, but religion isn't normally the cause of the war in itself. It's just the excuse of cruel people who are looking for a reason to fight. In the future, it also predicted that most wars will be due to lack of water," he said softly. |

| Carey groaned quietly as he made his way into the Muggle Studies class. Seriously, this wasn't even fun, he didn't like that he had to take it because he didn't feel like he was getting all that much out of the class. Muggles did actually interest him a little bit, but whatever stuff this guy had been going over just wasn't very interesting. He rubbed the side of his ribs, still slightly bruised from having bumped into something or someone pretty hard from the..well, the battle. It was still kinda hard to believe all that happened. it was all a blur and he didn't remember most of it besides the twins actually seeming to be nice to him, hiding under a table with Meli, and being huddled up in the Trophy room. He sighed, glancing at those he passed as he took his seat in the front.
He put his elbow on the table and rested his chin on his palm as Healer Emery talked. He didn't feel like a lecture listening mood, so he began to zone out, looking out a window. He snapped out of it as the other students voices came through, and he sat up more upright, trying to pay more attention, even though he didn't want to. "Money." he cut in. "And one group of people thinking they're better then another..." He knew about the whole wizard superiority over muggle deal, and his mother had also told him that muggles also discriminated among themselves, much like the whole blood purity thing among wizards. |

| His hands clasped behind his back, pacing around, he listened to all the students give their input. So young, yet they understood this all so well. It was sad really. He knew when he was this age he would have no idea what the answer would be. It was still hard to wrap his head around. Why things like superiority was still around, why people were still so possessive. As they finished giving their answers, Parker stopped his pacing and looked at the bored. "Yes, all of those things are very correct. It can all pretty much be summed up that conflict arises because people....are different. People are greedy and selfish, it doesn't matter where you come from or what you do for a living."
He sighed and looked over the students. "People often don't understand things that are different from them, or they refuse to understand because sometimes hate is just so much easier then tolerance. It's so much easier than accepting you may be wrong about something. Well, one thing here at Hogwarts we try to teach every one of you is that tolerance, is that selflessness and compassion and willingness to understand. I want you all to know that. Us as professors expect a lot out of you guys...we want all the best for you and we want to protect you, and to do that, we much teach you and you must be willing to learn."
He paused and cleared his throat, looking at the ground. "As your professor I want to be there for you all, and you to be able to come to me." he looked up at them again, hesitating. He now understood why none of his professors would tell him there might have been a war about to rage. It was so difficult. But he needed to be honest with them like his professors were not to him. "I want to tell you this because there may be tough times ahead, and you are all so incredibly strong. You need to stay strong and well, and during this summer never stop practicing. Never stop learning. Now, I will miss you all, and I hope you all have a great summer....class is dismissed." He gave a small smile to them and then turned and walked back to his desk to grab his papers. |
