| Jamie enjoyed to walk. It was enjoyable, and the fresh air was most welcome to her. She loved the outdoors, it was truly wonderful. She hummed a tune under her breath as she walked along the cobblestone path towards her favourite place in the world, Shadow Forest. The trees were beautiful, old, tall, and everything was lush and green. She loved the little clearing within it that was dotted with random flowers, but today she would not go that far. She stopped right at the first tree and pressed her fingers against it, focusing her energy on it.
To her delight, she felt a warm feeling within her and her un-trained magic created a bunch of flowers from the tree trunk. Jamie giggled and plucked one from the trunk, examining it. It was a gorgeous lilac, and it made her smile softly. She sat down on a fallen trunk right by the entrance. The wind rustled her hair, and she let her eyes fall shut.

| Carey huffed as he walked. Damn his father and damn his brother, he thought. A father-son hiking trip, what a joke. Carey should have known he'd fall behind and get lost. he should have known better. Well, this time he'd teach them a lesson and get himself even more lost. Maybe that would freak them out, to not be able to find him. His mother would certainly scold them for being so careless. She had too.
Nearly fuming, he swatted at a bush that was sticking out into to the path and then hissed in pain. He looked at his hand which was bleeding, apparently catching a thorn on said bush. He groaned and cursed under his breath, stomping his way down the path, muttering angrily under his breath. Screw nature, he wanted to go home. And NOW. |

| The silence around Jamie was rudely interrupted by the sounds of someone cursing, groaning, stomping and crashing into various parts of the bush. Her eyes snapped open and she panicked, looking around with wild eyes as she spied a boy angrily stomping across the path. She breathed a sigh of relief and wondered what to do.
She could approach him, or she could just let him rant it out. Being a kind girl, she wanted to know what was wrong. Perhaps he was lost? She coughed lightly and slowly moved over to him, her eyes fixed on her feet. "H-hi." |

| Even with his mumbling to himself, he managed to hear a cough from behind him, and he perked up, spinning around. Damned if he be caught already. He breathed out and rolled his eyes seeing it was just some girl. Stuttering and perky looking too, oh, great, he thought to himself sarcastically.
He was not in the mood for a chat, he needed to get further out. He spun back around on the heel of his shoe and groaned. Not looking back he waved her off. "Leave me alone- I'm busy getting lost." |

| Jamie smiled as he turned to face him, her head lifted now to look him in the eye. His entire body language was hostile, and he rudely spun away from her and said that he was busy getting lost. She wanted to retort that she could probably help him, but she remained silent for the moment.
Finally, she managed to rein in her anger and hurt at his rude behaviour and found the words to say. "I can help you, if you want?" |

| Hearing her words that she could 'help him' get more lost caused him to turn around yet again, leaves crunching beneath his feet. At this rate the tracks on his shoes would get worn down, he huffed inwardly. He gave her this look that read 'are you an idiot' before speaking.
"Help get me lost? Help? Unless you plan to actually kidnap me, I don't know anyone could help someone get lost." He snapped. He glanced away from her, looking down at another path, not so worn in meaning not to many people went that way. Without saying anything he turned and started walking again. |

| Jamie frowned at him, and decided that he was either in a bad mood, having a really bad day or was just typically annoying. It was people like him that made the world a prejudiced, bad place to live him and she was willing to bet that he had a problem with homosexuality and black people. She ground her teeth together as the flower within her hands caught alight and burned into ashes before falling at her feet.
This upset Jamie, as she'd liked that flower and now she'd destroyed it. She went to huff at him, but she saw the direction he was headed and clucked her tongue, shuffling her feet a little. "I wouldn't go that way. Weird creatures that way. If you want to get lost, there's a clearing through this path. Keep walking until you get to the old tree that looks burnt and has a 'H' carved into it, then walk past that for a while until you find a big, yellow flower that's really weird looking. Turn right and walk until you come across two trees that form a barrier. Past there is the clearing." Jamie spoke quietly. |

| He glanced back at her as he had started walking, smiling a bit seeing her frown. Sensitive much? he thought. He raised his eyebrow a bit at the flower catching fire in her hand, seeing the look in her eyes, and turned back forward taking a few more steps before stopping and scoffing at her.
"Let me guess" He laughed a little to himself. "you must live in a small tribe of forest dwelling people that wander, so of course you know every little thing about this forest," he said in a mocking way. He turned back around to her and crossed his arms. He raised an eyebrow listening to her directions. "And what makes you so sure that'll get me lost? I bet you're some...nymph or something and you're trying to get me into some sort of trap!" He rolled his eyes, trying to mock her again. In truth, he just couldn't remember the directions for the life of him and didn't like how well she knew this forest even though he'd been hiking through this area several times a month with his father.

| Jamie stepped away from him instinctively as he stepped towards her, and she lifted her hands up to her chest, ready to protect her face. When she realised that he had nothing but words to hurt her, she relaxed visibly and lowered her arms. Many times at school she had been hit by bullies who thought her views on human rights were ridiculous, and he was just like those bullies. Except scrawny, and she realised that if she wanted too she could probably beat him up. Not that she wanted too.
"N-no... I-I just li-ke to e-e-explore is all," she mumbled in response, her hands wrung together as she stared down at her feet. He continued talking, and she tilted her head as he called her a 'nymph'. Wasn't a nymph a magical creature? Therefore, it didn't exist. THerefore, he wasn't very bright. "Don't be ridiculous, nymph's aren't real!" She exclaimed with raised eyebrows. "Why would I want to lure you into a trap? Im just trying to be nice." She muttered. |

| He smirked a little as she backed away. Did she seriously think he'd punch her?? Firstly, if his mother ever found out, he'd be hung my his ankles or some other ridiculous punishment she would threaten with, and well, it probably wouldn't hurt all that much anyway. He then scowled at that knowledge and rolled his eyes at her stuttering. He hardly could make out what she way saying.
When she looked at him and said that nymphs weren't real he honestly couldn't help but laugh. "You're kidding me," he raised his eyebrows "you're going to light a flower right on fire with your hand, then tell me that nymphs don't exist? You're funny." He rolled his eyes again and began walking back down the path she had pointed. "Alright, come with me then-" He frowned, shoving his hands in his pockets. It's be embarrassing if he got lost...trying to get lost- or wherever she had told him to go. |

| Jaycie wanted to wipe that darn smirk right off his face, and she had concluded that he was an arrogant little prick. Don't be so judgemental! She scolded herself, and instantly she pushed away nasty thoughts directed at him. She wouldn't be mean, she'd be nice despite how rude he was to her.
She tilted her head, remembering that she'd set the flower on fire. She'd always been able to do stuff like that, it was a part of how weird she was. The kids at school picked on her for being different, abnormal, strange. She'd once been chased by the school bullies and somehow leapt up a tree with ease. They'd called her freak after that. "Well, im a freak, so what? And they aren't real so don't speak to me as if im an idiot." She snapped, startled at her own out-burst. In an attempt to apologise, she agreed. "Alright, i'll show you the way." |

| He gave her a look of disbelief as she called herself a freak. If she thought herself a freak, then- then what was he?! He scowled, a flash of anger going through him "Watch you you're calling a freak!!" As his voice raised, the leaves around his feet had blown around as if a somewhat strong gust of wind had gone by, but there hadn't been.
He huffed, and then suddenly realized something. "Oh, wait- damn." He suddenly regained his composure and smiled a bit, with no hint of meanness in it. "No way! You don't even know, do you!?" His smiled widened a bit and he mumbled to himself"Muggle raised, wow. Of course she's ignorant, then." He walked along side her. "So, when you said there were strange creatures off that other path, I thought you meant dangerous, I bet they're just harmless pixies or something-" he laughed. |

| Jamie raised her eyebrows, now confused. Was she not allowed to call herself a freak? She looked down as it seemed a gust of wind had blown the leaves up around his feet. Strange that she hadn't felt it too, but then she'd been quite shocked. She mistook his outburst as him actually caring a little about her, but she pursed her lips. That just didn't seem right, so she decided to voice her confusion. "Im allowed to call myself a freak... why would you care anyway?" She raised an eyebrow.
Jamie just blinked as he began to mutter about her being 'muggle raised' and that she 'didn't even know'. Jamie sighed and decided that for once in her life, she'd allow herself to be mean. He clearly didn't have a problem with it. "What on earth are you talking about? Don't mumble to yourself, you sound insane." She hissed, and instead of feeling as if revenge had been achieved she felt bad for being mean. Jamie's mouth popped open in absolute bewilderment. He was nuts! "Nymphs and pixies, you really aren't right in the head. I mean things like giant, ugly wolf-like creatures that come out at night, and just... horrible creatures that chase you and smell gross." Jamie retorted, her arms crossed over her chest as she continued down the path. |

| He huffed, shaking his head at her confused expression,"If you're a freak then what does that make me and my family!" He snapped at her, sounding offended. He kicked at the leaves, a few of them spinning around in the air too fast to be natural before landing back down.
This girl could get under his skin, that was for sure. She wasn't even doing it intentionally and that only fueled his irritation further. He narrowed his eyes at her, his voice raising slightly, "I am not insane. You don't know anything- You know what, if anything you sound like the crazy one! If you didn't even know what I was talking about I'd suggest you go see help. But considering you do, I suppose you're just being a closed-minded idiot!" He shook his head, glaring down at the ground.
He looked at her, his eyebrows furrowed when she said what she'd seen down that path. He then looked a little worried as he glanced back where they had walked from. " Dangerous it is then. For Merlin's sake- you've seen them??" He looked at her bewildered. "You're damn lucky you're alive, you know-" He looked ahead, and sighed. He probably should have thanked her for probably saving him from a world of hurt. Though...it was day time so actually he would be just fine, so that would be stupid of him. |

| Jamie just frowned at him and scratched her head. He still was making no sense, and she was beginning to question his sanity more and more by the minute. What did he mean what does that make his family? She'd said nothing at all about his family! "What on earth are you on about?" She asked, an eyebrow raised.
Jamie bit her lip as he continued to ramble words that didn't make any sense. Perhaps his native language wasn't english and he was stuffing up the language because he didn't speak it very well? This didn't seem right in her head, and she sighed in annoyance. Faking a look of sympathy, she smiled softly at him. "There there, don't hurt your ickle head with thoughts, sweetums. THink before you say, don't just smoosh random words together and think they'll make sense." She cooed, surprised at her own cruelty.
She giggled as he said 'for Merlins sake', and wondered if he was in actual fact a freak. She didn't want to say anymore, and she frowned as he said that she was lucky to be alive. She believed that, as when she'd been running from that creature before it even saw her she could hear it howling in the distance and the rustling of leaves behind her as it chased her. She'd managed to climb up a tree and she'd watched as it flew past her, turned but saw some weird looking creature that sort of resembled a bear and chased after that instead. "I guess." She said. |

| Carey grit his teeth, he was flustered out of frustration and words he thought fit together just flowed out. He hardly remembered ever getting so upset at anyone other then his brother. He had stopped walking and glared at her. "Shut. Up. Okay? Just-just shut up!! You don't know anything, alright!?" He nearly growled at the fact she had pointed out just what he'd been doing.
His voice was still raised in frustration, "Werewolves- okay? They were bloody werewolves! I don't care what you say! You'll know damn well enough when you get you're bloody letter what I'm talking about-" He didn't care about her showing him any place anymore. He started walking again, stalking off in front of her, his fists clenched as his sides as he turned to his right, hoping to leave her behind.
He closed his eyes a brief moment as he stormed off, counting deep even breathes for himself. He wasn't crazy, it was his world, his life, everything that he knew. Her brushing them off had angered him because he knew them to be true. His life didn't even fall into her realm of existence and it made him feel like nothing, it made him so very angry too. Sometimes he found himself wishing muggles knew about all this stuff so that is life didn't have to be so difficult and secretive sometimes. |

| Jamie giggled at his flustered appearance and the way he seemed to stumble over his words. It was something she often did, often looked like, but being around this arrogant prick made her feel rare confidence and spite that she never normally felt. Hitting him and even become a very likeable option, and she rested her hands on her hips and leant back against a tree as he stopped to talk to her. "Oh yeah, sure I don't. That's why im speaking and all, walking, breathing, all that, I don't know anything." She said sarcastically.
Jamie laughed out-right at him saying werewolves. He was nuts, and it was starting to frighten her. Walking in the woods with him most definitely was not a good idea, it was the stuff of horror movies and she suddenly wanted to run away from him. Her confidence faded a bit as she looked down at her feet. "You're nuts." She mumbled, stepping away from him.
She watched as he continued down the path and turned left, moving into the trees. Though she didn't want too, she knew she ought to follow him in case he ended up in the dangerous spots of this forest. She knew where it was dangerous, and where it was safe, and she didn't wish any harm on him. With an annoyed sigh she hurried after him and used the stones to follow him without making a sound. |

| Carey felt his face go red. Why was she laughing at him!? He was yelling, being entirely serious, and she was the one laughing at him!? He took a step towards her as she rested against the tree. "Stop. Laughing. At. Me!" She was just some random muggle raised girl, so why was he letting himself get so wound up? Things felt so backwards to how he thought they should have been, and he really hated it.
"Look, I'd bloody well show you this stuff if I could! What the hell else would you call a large wolf looking creature that comes out sometimes in the night- Honestly! I'm not nuts!" He spat angrily, stepping away. "Just leave me alone then, if that's what you think!"
As he had turned, he didn't care to look back. He was so angry he ears were ringing and he was trying to will away the bright redness in his face. He groaned, storming down the less worn path with his arms crossed tightly across his chest, not caring at all where he went. |

| Jamie felt another flash of fear run through her and she cowered slightly against the tree. She resisted the urge to run away, and yet again she was scared he would hit her. She already disliked him, but at his words she made an attempt to hold back her laughter, a tiny giggle escaping very briefly. She sighed as he moved away, and she wanted to huff at him and insist that he was nuts. Though, a part of her believed him. How else was it that she could fly up into branches of trees with one jump?
Jamie grinned as he didn't seem to notice her behind him, and she jumped up and grabbed onto a lower branch. With her flexibility, she flipped herself up on the branch, wobbled and climbed onto another one. She snapped a branch off and threw it down to the ground right in front of him, before grabbing another one and throwing it down as well. She wasn't sure what she was doing, she just thought it would be fun. |

| When she had cowered for the second time, Carey gave her a weird look and scoffed. Geez, what was her problem? She was going to say all that stuff and then cower away from him? Well, admittedly Carey would never get into a fight, but at least when he said stuff he didn't back away whenever someone took a step towards him.
He bit his lip with his arms crossed as he continued to storm away, some leaves crunching beneath his feet. He glanced to the side when he heard a snapping sound. He'd been looking to the side when the branch had been thrown before him, and seeing it out of the corner of his eye he startled and uncrossed his arms, taking a step back. He huffed and thought he was lucky it hadn't hit him, when another one nearly did, he looked around wildly. That damn girl was nowhere in sight. Good. But that meant something else had been breaking branches. He groaned and stepped over the two branches, walking slightly faster. |

| Jamie had to raise her hand to cover her mouth as he looked around in a wild manner, trying to find where the sticks were coming from. It seemed he thought she was gone, and this made her want to laugh harder. It took all of her strength not to laugh, and she managed to sober herself by thinking that if she laughed, she'd fall out of the tree and that would not be funny at all. She doubted he would care if she laid there, dying.
She swiftly moved across the branch, her entire focus on staying on them. A couple of times, her hand would slip and panicked she'd wrap her legs around the branch. She could hear the branches cracking beneath her feet, and the leaves were rustling as she made the branch bounce about. He was moving too fast, and with her eyes wide open she jumped from one branch to another, arms flailing wildly before she managed to grab hold and swing herself up. She then moved as quick as she could, her un-controllable magic aiding her in staying up with ease. She grabbed a branch for support, but felt it snapping and pulled it free. She then tossed this down in front of him and squeaked as she almost toppled off of her branch. |

| Carey continued to walked, recrossing his arms, and keeping his head up, trying not to look like he was bothered by branched being thrown at him from above. The cracking and loud rustling that followed did start to unnerve him however. He was starting to get a little worried and hoped he'd not come across some upset creature's path. He was almost starting to hope he'd come across his father or...well, not his brother, he might endure whatever creature it was in that case.
He heard another crack and a slightly larger branch came down before him. It very nearly hit him and leaned back off balance, landing on his butt with his elbows propping him up. He groaned, one of his elbows having hit a rock. Down on the ground he looked up. He could have sworn he heard a squeek. The branches were still swaying but the thick leaves still in the trees didn't allow him a good look at whatever was up there. "Damn it," he groaned, as he sat up, rubbing his elbow. |

| Jamie couldn't believe how much fun she was having freaking out this strange kid who believed in magic and the likes. She thought him quite insane if she was being honest, though she knew she shouldn't be so judgemental. However, there was something within him that made her more confident, out-spoken and snippish then usual. Perhaps it was his 'holier than thou' attitude, and she guessed that was most likely it. She pressed her hand to her mouth as he fell backwards, though she was mildly concerned. He didn't seem to be to hurt, and no longer able to hold in her laughter she guffawed loudly and clung to the branch desperately as she giggled her head off.
Her grip on the branch loosened the more she laughed, tears forming in her eyes and she reached up one hand to dab at them. SHe realised almost instantly this was a bad move, as she lost her balance and swung around. Her hand quickly grabbed the branch, and she held on for dear life before shutting her eyes and letting herself fall out of the large tree. If it wasn't for the fact that she was on branches closer to the ground, and she landed on the fluffiest bush anyone had ever seen she thought she might've hurt herself. As it was, she merely scratched her skin as some branches ripped at it, and she tumbled out the branch still laughing hysterically.
"What did you think I was? One of those mythical creatures? A wood nymph, perhaps?" She bit her lip to try and stop laughing, though a few small giggles escaped as she swiped her hair out of her face. |

| His eyes immediately shot up when he heard the laughing in the tree. His face flared and he groaned as he pushed himself up to stand. "You're kidding me!? That damn girl, she bloody followed me-" he muttered to himself. What on earth was she doing in the trees throwing BRANCHES at him, she was mad! She was fast too....
He was just about to yell out at her, demanding her to come down and tell him what she was thinking when he saw her slip from the branch. He watched her grab onto the branch and winced, just imagining how that could have hurt her hands, granted he'd never really climbed trees so he'd not really know. He froze, nearly gasping as she let go and landed in a bush, rolling out with some scratches. And still laughing! There was clearly something wrong with her.
He growled when she mocked him yet again. "First of all, mythical? No, that's not the word! Magical is!" He huffed. "Second, just shut up! Why won't you leave me alone!?" His face was red in both anger and embarrassment, frowning at her as she laughed at him. "You're nothing like a wood Nymph anyways, don't flatter yourself, girl-" he snapped, hoping to insult her. |

| Jamie didn't miss his bewildered expression as she rolled out of the bush - covered in scratches - and continued to laugh at his expense. Granted, she knew she looked mad but this didn't worry her all too much. She'd never been so confident before, clearly his arrogant manner brought out the more confident, Rubi-ish side of her. She'd always wondered what it would be like to be Rubi, and now she had a slight understanding.
Finally, Jamie managed to calm herself as she stood up and rolled her eyes when he insisted that it was 'magical' not 'mythical'. Just like he thought she was mad, she thought he was completely insane, if not a little messed up in the head. She crossed her arms and snorted. "Right, whatever you say magical boy. Did you get dropped on your head when you were a baby?" She asked, though her voice was quiet. She still wasn't as confident when insulting someone as Rubi, and she most definitely could not do that one eyebrow up one down thing that Rubi did.
"Just shut up? Bah, I could do better than that!" She giggled, her cheeks burning red with excitement and a bit of shame on herself. She couldn't believe she was being so cruel, it was very out of character for herself. "I don't think being a wood nymph is something to flatter yourself about." She said in a thoughtful tone as she tapped her chin and rolled her eyes at him. |
