Clara patted the last mound of earth into place on the large, sickly plant. Today was the day she never thought she would end up teaching to first years - how to properly nurse a plant with a dose of Trim Leaf. The poor tree was loosing flowers, was covered in black spots and short, dead-ended leaves compared to it's older ones which were visibly healthier than the new ones.

"Shh, you poor darling," Clara hushed the plant, stepping back and waiting for the rest of her class to appear.

Aislin walked into class, books under her arms and ready for another fun lesson with Professor O'Keefe and Biabin the Hufflepuff. But the minute she walked in, she was greeted with a solemn looking teacher crouched in front of a forlornly droopy plant.

"Wow, Professor. He doesn't look so healthy," Aislin observed as she got closer.

Biabin bounded eagerly into class hoping to get her hands good and dirty! Her books on the other hand were hoping to stay as clean as possible today after being bumped, jostled, dropped and used like step ladders since she got them, it didn't seem like there was much chance of that. "Hullo!" Biabin called walking. "Wha's tha'?" she asked pointing to a tree her professor was talking to. "Can it talk back?" she asked eyes wide and alert, she'd never seen a plant that talked back before. She stopped walking as she envisioned what all the trees she'd climbed and what they may have to say on the matter, it made her laugh. "Tha's real cool!"
