| Maisie was sitting in a carriage on the Hogwarts express, waiting to arrive at Hogwarts. Most first years like herself would be exited to be going to Hogwarts, and learn magic. But Maisie was not. She wanted to go to Durmstrang, but her father wouldn't allow her. Said 'it was too far away, and they taught too much Dark Magic.' Maisie totally disagreed.
Now Maisie was on the way back to Hogwarts in the train, and bored out of her brain. Maybe she could strike up a conversation with someone, if anyone would talk to her. Getting up and walking out of the carriage, Maisie turned right, heading aimlessly when she was looking down, and bumped into someone. It wasn't really like her, as she always sensed that someone was close, but not now.
Looking up and the person who she bumped into, she spoke "Not sorry for bumping into you!" Maisie exclaimed to the person in front of her with a scowl planted onto her face. |

| Jamie hugged her mother and father tightly, bidding them both a teary goodbye. She would miss them ever so much, but she couldn't help but be a little excited to return to Hogwarts. Though her first year had been lonely and filled with her being homesick, she hoped to make more friends this year. THough her shyness often got in the way, she had decided to try and be a little bit more bold this year.
Jamie climbed onto the Hogwarts express and waved at her parents through a window until she couldn't see them anymore. Then, she followed after her twin to a compartment and put her trunk inside, though Rubi vanished almost immediately to go off with her own friends. Jamie sighed and walked down the hallway, looking for Rubi now. She didn't fancy sitting on her own.
And then, Jamie walked smack bang into someone whilst momentarily distracted by a loud bang in one of the compartments she'd just walked past. She frowned at what the girl said, but decided to be polite anyways as her cheeks flushed red from embarrassment. "I'm so sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going! Are you okay?" |

| Maisie looked up at the girl, and saw that she was looking a little bit flustered. Clearly she was embarrassed. "No, you weren't watching where you were going, so next time, you better watch out!" Maisie sneered at the girl. Even thought she looked a year older than her, she didn't let that phase her. The look on that girls face was priceless, and Maisie laughed a little, but accidently showing her sharp vampire teeth. She still wasn't all to used to this stuff about being a vampire, and she was finding it difficult thinking about what she was going to do with all the humans around at Hogwarts. She would have to be extra careful.
Thinking back to the girl, Maisie closed her mouth quickly, trying to hide her teeth. She raised her eyebrows at the girl and gave her one of her death looks, which apparently she got from her father. Maisie found that they almost always worked. |

| Jamie blinked in surprise at how rude this girl was - and a first year, too! She crossed her arms and felt her cheeks tinge pink.
She wasn't good at dealing with rude people. In fact, the only person she ever stood up to was Carey Matthews, she bit her bottom lip and chewed on it lightly, trying to think of something to say but not having the courage to say any words that she wanted to slip out of her mouth. "You know," she said quietly. "There are people at this school who won't just walk away after you say something like that, like I would. There are people at this school that WILL hurt you. I'm sorry for bumping into you, have a nice day."
Jamie said softly. Because there were some massive bullies at this school, and she always tried to be nice to people, despite the death stare she was receiving from the girl. |

| Maisie raised her eyebrows at the girl. She thought that she should warn the girl. "Just a word of advice, you need to start standing up to people, or they will hurt YOU!" Maisie gave the girl some advice, but doubting that she would take it anyway, but she warned her just in case she did. |

| Jamie sighed in exasperation and decided to just screw it. She was sick and tired of being stepped on by everyone, being pathetic and weak and shy. She pushed away her shyness and chose to ignore the flush of her cheeks as she felt her embarrassment want to shine through. She wouldn't just drop her head, let her hair shield her face and run off to Rubi. She would be strong.
"Wow, really? Aren't you clever, taking my words and twisting them a little. Sweetie, you ain't gonna get no where in life with comebacks like that." Jamie rolled her eyes, though inside she felt horrible and wanted to take the words back. She bit her lip to keep apologies in and stared at the girl with annoyance clear on her features. |

| Maisie glared at the girl, trying not to bare her teeth as she so wanted to hurt this girl. How dare she, talking to her like that? Maisie can't stand those people who try to insult her or anything of the such. However, what Maisie did realize, was that her eyes had already changed colour to red, which normally happened in these situations, but Maisie had forgotten about it.
Not saying anything, Maisie continued to glare at the girl, still completely oblivious to her eyes' colour. |

| Jamie frowned back at the venomous glare she was receiving from the first year. Something must've really happened to this girl to make her such a bitch, and despite the fact that Jamie was trying to be tough stuff she was still concerned. However, she knew her concern would only piss off the crazy one further, and so she kept her mouth shut. That is, until the girl's eyes started glowing bright, blood red.
"Um, your eyes, they're um," Jamie stammered. "They're red." She looked startled to say the least. |

| It was not what Maisie had expected. But when she heard the words come out of the girl's mouth, she looked down to stop her from noticing. "Have you ever been to Romania?" Maisie asked the girl, not really knowing why she had asked. But she was trying to get the subject to change, trying not to let the girl know what she was. Only one person in the school knew what she was, and that was the Headmaster, under the law. Maisie really was hoping that he wouldn't mention anything that she was a vampire at the Opening feast. |

| [[It's actually a female whose the Headmistress of Hogwarts, just letting you know! ]] She watched as the girl let her head drop, effectively hiding her eyes from Jamie's view. But Jamie had seen the glowing red, and felt as if those eyes were forever imprinted in her memory. She shuddered slightly. She knew immediately that this girl was no ordinary witch. "No, i've never been out of Britain. This is the furthest i've ever gone away from home." Jamie told her in a hesitant, wary tone. Why was she trying to change the subject? If Jamie hadn't been sure before, she was positive now that the girl wasn't normal for a witch. "Why were your eyes red?" She inquired after a beat of silence between the two girls. |

| Maisie looked around, trying to think of an excuse, but none came to mind. Maybe she could trust this girl? Maisie had learnt many lessons of trust, and soon learnt to trust no one, but she felt like she couldn't get out of this situation which was very unlike her. "Can you hold a secret?" Maisie asked the girl seriously. As she was a Hufflepuff, then Maisie had high hopes, but she was still wary. |

| Being a muggle born meant that she was even less likely to figure out on her own what type of creature that the girl was exactly. Her brain was slowly going on lockdown as she panicked, but reasoned with herself that she was being ridiculous. Not all creatures who were evil in movies has to be evil in real life, she mentally scolded. Taking a beath, Jamie looked up at the girl warily and noticed se was receiving the same look.
"Of course, I promise I won't tell." She wanted to add 'Despite the way you just treated me' but her kind nature told her to shut up and listen because saying something like that wasn't likely to get her anywhere. |

| Maisie thought about this situation logically. She was sure she could trust this girl, being a Hufflepuff and all, so she decided to get it out. "Iwasbittenbyavampirewheniwas5." Maisie said, all very fast, just to get it out. She was wondering whether the girl actually understood what she just said. |

| Jamie stared at the girl with a frown on her brow as she waited for her to say the words that she seemed to be thinking about so deeply. Finally, the first year spat out some jumbled words, but Jamie had heard one word loud and clear. Vampire.
"You're a vampire? Like, suck my blood vampire?" She asked in surprise. She then blushed at her questions. "I won't tell anyone, I promise, though we should probably not discuss this out here." She said quietly. |

| Maisie glared at the girl for saying those things. One thing she really hates when she told people, was the same thing they say. 'You suck blood.' or 'Are you really a vampire that sucks blood?' Maisie got really annoyed when that happened, but after telling a lot of people in the past few years that she had been turned, seeing as she was only turned a few years ago, she was used to it by now.
"Yes, not quite the most private place. Come into my compartment, it's free." Maisie said, still looking down at the floor, for fear that her eyes hadn't changed back to normal, which she hoped they had, or if they hadn't then she did have a major problem. The only thing that she hoped was that they didn't change in the Sorting Ceremony.
Turning around, Maisie walked back to her compartment, hopefully with the Hufflepuff following behind her. |

| Jamie immediately wished she could eat her words as even an idiot could tell that she'd offended the first year. She hadn't meant to, she was just new to the whole being among magical creatures and witches and wizards thing, and now she'd bumped into a vampire? She shook her head and sighed, giving her an apologetic look. "I'm sorry, i'm just not really used to this whole magic thing. Kinda hard to get used to after 11 years of normality, really." She shrugged her shoulders lightly.
Jamie nodded her head as the girl agreed that this wasn't the most private place. Heck, a few people looked like they were trying to eavesdrop on the conversation and Jamie certainly wouldn't want this new girl having her secret flying around the school. "Sure." She said, noticing the way the girl dropped her head to hide her eyes - which were mid-way between blue and red.
Jamie followed her back to her compartment and shut the door behind them once they were inside. "I'm Jamie Wright, by the way." |

| Maisie nodded in a forgiveness way, showing that she forgave her for what she said. "Maisie Snape." Maisie said to Jamie, holding out her hand to shake in politeness. Maisie felt a little more confident with her eyes now, and dragged them off the floor. The floor was a bit bland as well, so it would be much more interesting if she looked up. |

| Jamie was glad that the nod seemed to signal that the girl forgave her. She smiled softly at her. Jamie felt incredibly honoured that the girl who had previously been rude as hell to her had turned around and seemed to accept her.
"So, when did you get bitten, if you don't mind me asking?" She queried in a soft tone, shaking Maisie's hand lightly before she took a seat and stared at Maisie's eyes. She felt she owed it to the girl to give her a piece of information regarding them. "Your eyes are blue now, don't worry." |

| Maisie looked up at Jamie, now that she was confident that her eyes had returned to there normal colour. She thought about the time that she was bitten. It was very painful, but at least she wasn't going to die from blood loss. Even though she was 5, it was all very clear in her memory, being one of her worst. "I was bitten when i was 5." Maisie answered in reply to Jamie's question. A very straight, and simple answer that was clear to understand. She wouldn't go into detail only if Jamie asked. |

| Jamie smiled softly as Maisie looked up at her, her eyes perfectly blue now. Jamie nodded her head and decided not to press Maisie for details, knowing that she probably wouldn't want to talk about it. Most people didn't like to give out their life story to someone they'd just met, anyway. "Ah." She said.
"So, what house do you want to be in, Maisie?" She asked, steering the conversation away from Maisie's condition, not wanting to make her un-comfortable. |

| Maisie was pleased that Jamie dropped the subject of being a vampire. Maybe she would tell her about it, but not right now, maybe after she got to know her better.
"Slytherin, like my father." Maisie said in answer to Jamie's question. Maisie wanted to be in the same house as her father, but being in Ravenclaw didn't mind her, as it was the same house that her mother was in. She was told that lots of people knew her father, in the Second Wizarding War. Apparently he died a hero or something like that, according to the Prophet, but it wasn't the most true written paper. |

| Jamie was glad that her and Maisie seemed to be getting along better now after their initial tiff. In fact, she was hoping that herself and Maisie might be able to be... friends, even?
"Your father, he was Severus Snape, right?" She asked. She'd read about him when she was reading all about the second wizarding war. Apparently, this was the third one they were currently in. She frowned as she thought about the war and all the people who'd died already. |

| "Yeah." Maisie sighed, thinking about what her father would be like with her. It sometimes frustrated her to know that she hadn't ever met her father, or known her mother well. But life was cruel, and it took her parents away from her. But now, she did have someone who did care for Maisie, even if he wasn't that nice. |

| "But... your dad's..." She shook his head and looked saddened at the thought that Maisie's father was dead. "Do you live with adoptive parents?" She asked curiously, crossing her legs on the chair and leaning back against the compartment wall. Jamie couldn't fathom not having a father, as she loved her daddy so much. |

| "Adoptive parent. A professor at Hogwarts said that he would look after me until i finished my years." Maisie corrected Jamie. It would be good to have a family, as Maisie had never had one, and didn't have the chance. She just knew that living at an orphanage is worse than living on the streets! But coming to Hogwarts was one thing in her life that she would never change. |
