Jackie still couldn't get her head around what was happening. This wasn't supposed to be her new school year... heading to a completely different school on an unfamiliar train. This just didn't fit. She was supposed to be at her beautiful Beauxbatons, but no, it just had to be a crumbling wreck, didn't it? And there were rumours that it was all the British's fault, too.

Strange that they would invite the victims of their own attack to come be guests at their major school. What were they playing at? Jackie pulled her knees up to her chest and hugged them tightly. She sighed, not wanting this change.

The only strong point Jackie could think of was that it got her further away from her family for the year... This thought triggered the memory of her conversation with Luca, from ages ago. Jackie wondered where on the train he was...

Luca had been having a hard enough time at Beauxbatons, what with all the students around him, making it nearly impossible for him not to lose it and fucking drain them! And now, there were DOUBLE the amount of student and he wasn't sure if he'd be able to cope. He'd have to stick to his room a lot and hide under a blanket, maybe get some lessons from the Headmaster who he knew was also a vampire.

He sighed and ducked his head, looking through the compartments for one that was empty or had one of his friends in it. He wondered where Jackie was, and decided to go look for her. He liked spending time with Jackie, she was his favourite friend.

He spied her in a compartment by herself and pushed open the door, shutting it beside him. He smiled at her. "Mind if I sit with you?"

Jackie glanced up when the compartment door rattled open. A grin lit up her face when she saw it was Luca, one of her only friends. It seems she had summoned him with her thoughts.

Jackie nodded, "Sure thing." She pulled her legs into a crossed position and returned his smile. "How were your holidays?" Jackie asked, prompting him to start a conversation; that and get her mind off going to a different school because their beloved Beauxbatons was in ruins.

Luca grimaced as Jackie asked about his holidays and shook his head at her. A heavy sigh escaped his lips as he buried his face in his hands and tried not to think too much about his almost murder of someone when his mother had decided it would be a splendid idea to take him to an over-crowded street of people.

"Merlin, it was possibly the worst holiday ever." Naturally, Luca didn't include any details as Jackie didn't know he was a vampire... yet... " He sat down beside her. "How were YOUR holidays? Enjoyable, or was the family horrible to you again?"
