| Roxie pulled on her floppiest straw hat and stepped out into the sunshine. She was wearing a shorter, floaty summer dress today as it was quite warm. Roxie never bothered with shoes in her own garden when she had no company, and so let the short spikes of grass cushion her feet as she walked.
A light breeze ruffled her hair and toyed with the folds of her dress, making the plants in the garden sway elegantly. She liked her garden. It had poise. It was a lovely garden, albeit huge, and Roxie admired her gardner for tending it.
Roxie slowly stopped and glanced up to the sky. Putting her fingers in her mouth, she blew out a loud whistle and waited. What better way to enjoy the sunshine than with your favourite pet? |

| Squishy squawked indignantly at the black and grey hippogriff who was betraying HIS hunting grounds. "Get out!" Squishy squawked again, rearing up on his hind leg and swiping his claws at the stupid beast, who jumped back. It was still an adolescent, and therefore Squishy would not harm the beast unless it harmed him first.
The hippogriff danced forward, towards the hunting grounds once more and Squishy wanted to snap and attack him. Then, in a fast movement, the hippogriff swiped at him and narrowly missed Squishy. Squishy jumped forwards and pounced on the hippogriff, pinning his legs down and grabbing a beak-full of feathers. He pulled them out and then released the hippogriff who took off into the air - probably to go cry to mummy.
Squishy proudly strutted around his area, glad to have protected it from a stupid child. He heard a whistle drift along the wind and his ears pricked up. His mistress was calling him. Squishy took off into the air and soared back to the magnificent gardens that his mistress had. He landed gracefully and trotted over to her, chest thrust out with pride. |

| Roxie smiled as she heard the flapping of large wings beating against the air, and turned around to see her Squishy trot up to her, his chest puffed up in a proud way. She walked up to him and grinned. "Hey, boy, what are you so proud about?" Roxie stroked his muzzle with her hand, and with her fingers, started grooming the feathers around his face absent-mindedly.
"You have blood on your feathers! What on earth have you been up to, Squishy my dear?" Roxie questioned the giant animal curiously. He did seem far too proud to have just been slumbering around this morning. Besides, knowing Squishy, it was too nice a day for him to sit around and do nothing.
She smiled again and started walking towards the garden path, intending to engage in a lovely, relaxing stroll with her Griffin. |

| Squishy made a strange noise in the back of his throat as she stroked his muzzle with her hand, not understanding what she'd really said. Boy, and proud he understand. He clucked his tongue and nudged his beak against her fingers as he did so. He wished he could speak to his mistress, but alas he was doomed to only squawk and made weird noises at her.
"I kept a Hippogriff fool away from my land, mistress!" He explained in his own tongue, making clucking noises and small squawks as he spoke to her. He flapped his wings lightly in annoyance as she seemed to yet again not be able to understand him. He had learned much of her tongue, why could she not learn his own?!
Squishy trotted after her and nudged his beak against her back playfully, before trotting ahead of her and bouncing around like a playful puppy. |

| Roxie grinned as the griffin croaked contentedly. Sometimes, she thought he was replying to her, and she wished she knew what he was saying. He might actually have some very intelligent conversation within that feathered beak of his.
She smiled when Squishy clicked and squawked at her, almost too proudly. As if he'd done a good deed. But Roxie couldn't have any hope in understanding what he was trying to communicate, and felt she deserved the annoyed flapping. "No, stop that, Squish; it's not very dignified."
Barely having taken two or more steps, Roxie heard Squishy bound up behind her like a little dog and not a moment later, his beak had knocked her shoulders. She laughed and kept walking, picking up the speed, intending to play some form of hide and seek with her Griffin. |

| Squishy knew that his mistress was intelligent, but he didn't understand why she couldn't speak to him in his own tongue. Maybe her... whatever those things were that the sound came from couldn't form his words like he could not form hers? He clucked his beak in disapproval at nature disabling him from speaking to her.
Squishy looked appalled at being called un-dignified and immediately held himself still, chest puffed out and his head held up in proud. He squawked at her to show her that he wasn't very happy with her calling him that.
Squishy bounded around in front of her, calling out for her to chase him as he took off at a steady trot before racing back at her and zooming past her with a laugh-like sound escaping him as he did so. |
