Halcyon wanted to go down to the lake for some fresh air. The common room could get pretty boring, and he really wanted to make some new friends. He had also just met Carey again, and that had gone well, considering things. But he wanted to meet new people. He'd seen Carey's face enough times already, during all these cocktailparties their mutual friends held, inviting both of the families, expecting some action.

Halcyon sighed. It could get a bit too much sometimes. He really wished his parents could just suck up their pride and try to be a bit more respectable at times. They could be rather childish. Cyon reached the Black Lake and sat down, looking out at the waves. They weren't that big, as the wind was rather warmish and soothing. He leaned back and looked up at the sky, studying the few clouds' weird shapes.

Alexis stared out at the waves with an annoyed look on her face. Why she had to be stuck at this god awful school with its dull lessons,weird teachers and irritating students was beyond Alexis and she'd just about had it with all of it. Writing an angr letters home to her parents would be pointless, as her parents did not give a damn about her well being but merely her education. Of course, this was un-true, Alexis' parents loved her deeply but Alexis was to stubborn to acknowledge this fact.

She saw a boy by the lake, a dashingly, amazingly handsome boy. Alexis struggled to hide her smirk as she wondered over to him and stood beside him. Handsome was an under statement, and Alexis was amazed that someone so young was ever so attractive. She could see a group of girls giggling and pointing at him from a distance, but for the life of her she couldn't remember his name. "Watching the water are you?" She asked with a raised eyebrow at his distant expression.

Halcyon rose from his position, once again sitting and staring out at the lake again. It was so beautiful and calm, even though it could change in an instant. He felt lost in the beauty and wondered how it would be like to be able to just sit where he was, for the rest of his life, not needing anything, no food, no money, no clothes. Just existing. Boring, probably, but maybe also very soothing. He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't notice a girl walking over to him before she was standing in front of him, asking him what he was doing.

Cyon gave a small smile as he snapped out of his daze. "Yeah, it's easier to think that way," he said kindly.

He looked at the girl. She was kind of pretty really with the red hair. "Do you want to sit?" he asked her, hinting to a place next to him, "I'm Halcyon Dumbledore."

Alexis looked back to the lake as he mentioned that it was easier to think that way. She watched the soothing, almost hypnotic movement of the gentle waves along the surface caused by a soft wind and decided that she would agree with him on this matter. After all, she was beginning to get lulled into her own thoughts just with a few second long glance to see if what he was saying was utter bull or not. After all, boys often spoke pancakes that made you want to pat them and say, 'Oh, honey.'

"Agreed." She said as she tore her gaze away from the water and returned it to him.

Alexis twirled a lock of her red hair around her finger and nodded her head as he asked her if she wanted to sit. "Sure." She responded as she took a seat on the grass behind him and rested her hands in her lap. "Im Alexis Potter. Dumbledore, huh?" She smirked at him. She was very proud of her family history, and considering her great uncle, Albus - brother to her grandfather James - had been named after Albus Dumbledore she felt a strange connection to the boy.

Halcyon smiled as she turned to the waters, and did the same. The silence that followed made him believe she was drifting to her own thoughts as well. The waters really were wonderful like that. And then she agreed. He had to smile at that, and looked up at her, just as she sat down.

He then grinned. "Potter, huh? That's pretty cool," he said humorously, "Well, it's nice to meet you Alexis."

It was weird. The relationship between the Dumbledores and Potters had always been good. On the many fund raisers that Halcyon had met them, he found it slightly weird that he hadn't met Alexis before. "It's a bit weird that I haven't met you before, though, considering how much our families are together at different society parties and stuff," he said calmly.

But something made him feel like as if he had met her before. He frowned a bit, and turned his gaze to the waters. He studied the waves, letting his mind trace back. Then it snapped into place. He turned to her again with excited eyes. "Hey! I have met you before! Three years ago or something. At that fund raiser for poverty in Brazil. We watched the car blow up!" he said happily.

Alexis grinned at him as he said that and she felt a strange familiarity in his looks. "Dumbledore, huh?" She mimicked with a grin. "Thats pretty cool. Nice to meet you too." She smiled at him.

Alexis frowned as she thought about it, for why hadn't she met Halcyon before? The Dumbledore's, Potter's and the Weasley's had always been on brilliant terms so it seemed strange that she wouldn't've met him at a fundraiser, charity event, new years party, christmas party or a big Weasley-Delacour-Potter-Dumbledore gathering, though they'd only had one of those and there'd been so many people there she'd eventually vanished off to her room.

Alexis was busy remembering that dreadful party where she'd felt claustrophobic with the amount of people around her when he interrupted his thoughts with a proclamation of 'Hey!'. She turned her head to him with raised eyebrow, but as he spoke recognition flickered in her eyes and she clapped her hands together once. Of course!

She laughed as she remembered that car, it had been hilarious and they'd bonded over it straight afterwards. How could she have forgotten him? It seemed a crime in her mind.

"Oh yes! That was hilarious, and we had quite a sentence starter after that," she grinned at him. "Its so good to see you again." She sighed and leant back against the grass, now feeling completely relaxed around him.

Halcyon looked offended at her. Well, mock-offended. "Hey, don't mimic my awesome one liners!" he said with big eyes. Then he grinned again.

Halcyon laughed at the memory of the car. Seriously, that had been one of the most amazing things happening in his life, giving him the real reason for why guys loved explosions and mess. Of course, Alexis had proven to find it as much fun as he had, making them hit it off even better. He was a bit mortified that he had managed to forget her, but they had only been five years old or so.

"So, how have you been around cars since that?" he asked, giving a laugh. He really had enjoyed that fund raiser. Much more than any others. It had been the only one where there had been some action. When the car blew up, people were first mortified, but when it was clear that the car had no one inside, and it was just a piece of junk really, they had all laughed. It had been about the only fund raiser he had been at where the people weren't quite as stuck up as they were elsewhere.

"Why shouldn't I?" She responded playfully, giving him a wink. "You know, sharing is caring, and you should share awesome if you have it." Alexis reasoned.

Alexis laughed as she remembered the car explosion. She remembered all the little girls squealing about how icky and weird it was, whilst she'd rolled around laughing and thought it was awesome. Alexis' had never really been the girliest girl ever, and preferred things like toy cars to dolls. Dolls were boring, to be honest.

"A little, but I always feel like they're gonna explode so I don't get in." She confessed without a hint of shame. She honestly didn't want to get in a car and have it exploded on her. She smiled, remembering that it was her favourite fundraiser. She hadn't seen him since, much to her disappointment, but hoped that maybe she could seek him out at that stupid new years party her family held yearly. "That was fun. Hey, do you think you'll come to the Potter Family new years party?" She asked hopefully.
