| Class List: Danielle Lefevre Mystic Moon Basil Destry Luc was sitting behind his desk on the slightly elevated platform that overlooked the students desks. The curtains on the windows were drawn, but artificial light filled the room. Already he'd filled the bookshelves and corners of the room with mounds of his own books. On each desk was a smaller book he cared to provide for them as some of the information they would be going into wouldn't be in just the book they had bought. The side walls had large maps of every sort drawn down, and portraits of important historical figures of all kinds also lined the walls. Visuals were most important for a class like this, for the movements and ideas of the physical space in which all had happened. Though for their first lessons no wars would be gone over. They needed to understand the beginning, for who could understand the details without the basis for which they were founded? He rolled forward a large board to the front of the class. He carefully pulled out his wand, waving it, and in his handwriting appeared in the corner, 'Headmaster Laval'. The flicked his wand again and in the center of the board it said, "Development of Culture." He pocketed his wand, stepping back onto the elevated platform. A small jingle came from behind his desk and his pug-crup trotted out, sitting next to his foot. He crossed his arms and he waited for his class to arrive.

| Danielle walked into the History lesson wondering what they'd have about this year. She saw the teacher, or headmaster as he was, sitting by his desk. Danielle smiled kindly.
"Good morning professor," she said and sat down in the front, pulling out her books.
She looked at the board and raised an interested eyebrow. She wondered what time they'd start. It was more natural to start with the beginning, or so Dani thought. She shrugged though, and looked through the introduction of the book. |

| Mystic walked into History of Magic and notice that the professor was actually the Headmaster so she thought that was really cool. She also noticed that Dani was also in the class. She was the girl she had spent some time getting to know before school started.
Walking up to where Dani was sitting she sat down next to her and smiled. Maybe she wasn't going to be alone in all of her classes after all.
"Hay Dani, how are you doing?" Mystic was actually comfortable with at least one person.

| Basil swayed into class, cheerful as always. He noticed that Dani was there, and he remembered her as the nice girl who shared his tree. His smile reached his eyes and crinkled them. There was another girl sitting next to Dani already, so he decided to take the desk behind the two, giving Dani a small wave as he sat down.
Turning his attention to the board, Baz noticed they were starting off with culture. He loved culture, it was his absolute favourite thing ever. |

| Dani smiled kindly as Mystic walked into the classroom. She was feeling more comfortable around the girl, glad to see her again after visiting her home.
"Hey Mystic," she greeted, "I'm fine, how about you?"
She then looked up again as another student walked inside. She blinked. Baz? Cool. Two people she knew already. She turned slightly as he sat down behind her.
"Hey, how have you been?" she asked and then gestured to Mystic. "This is Mystic. Mystic, this is Baz. Or Basil," she introduced with a smile. |

| Mystic smiled at Dani, " I am doing really good thanks, glad we are in the same house as we hoped."
When she saw another person come in her shyness came out again when Dani introduced her.
"Hi" was about all Mystic could get out.

| Basil grinned openly. New people! This was great. "Hi Mystic, it's nice to meet you," he said, holding out his hand for her to shake. Basil couldn't help but smirk inwardly at her shyness, his mother was like that. He knew how to handle it.
"Sooooo," he started, drawing out his word. "How's life in the Noble house?" |

| Seeing as his first few students had arrived now, he walked over to the board again. His little crup jingling on behind him as he walked. he stopped by the board and he nodded to the first girl that walked in, smiling and greeting him. "Good morning," he replied back, his voice a bit soft. He hoped all in this fresh batch had good manners like this.
The next two that came in also seemed cheery. It seemed they were acquainted already. That was good, student unity like that is what would help keep the school together. They seemed a bit chatty, but it was just as children were. As long as the listened to the lesson when it was time for class to start, everything would be fine.
He looked at the clock he'd set in the back of the room, so that he could see it at all times. He cleared his throat loud enough for the three to hear him as a signal that class was starting. Unlike his soft tone of before, he spoke up, clear as he could with a slight accent. "I understand pleasantries are nice and all, but I'm afraid we must get going with the lesson."
He pointed to the board. "I could just go on and give a long, boring lecture about how Magical France developed and how it's culture has changed, but how about I ask if any of you know anything so I don't spend time on something you already know. Give me dates, names, events. What helped to form the beginning of our world? What pushed our culture into the way it is now? Please jot down some notes, a list is fine, and then someone can answer aloud."
He nodded. "Please begin." he glanced up at the clock again and then walked back over to his desk, crup trailing behind him. |

| Danielle looked at the blackboard for a moment, collecting her thoughts. Then she started writing down on a new parchment with her green quill what went down that she knew about Beauxbatons. She rose her hand, ready to reply.
"Well, Beauxbatons was made after Hogwarts was, being one of the three big in Europe. It is split in three houses, Eponette, Avis and Renard. Eponette is the house of the noble. They are very brave and what they do is often justified. They are also very merciful. The house is named after the historian Monsieur Matthieu Eponette, who believed in the equality between magical people and muggles, and equal worth. Avis is the house that holds the deviant, ambisious and intelligent, and they can also be wickedly deceitful. It was named after Madam Fay Avis, who fought for witches rights, eventually succeeding in giving the women equal rights as the men. Renard is the house of the cunning, who will do mostly anything for the ambition they have in their life. Renard was named after the founder of Beauxbatons, and therefore is the more famous of the three houses," Danielle said, reading from her notes directly, probably sounding like some book. |

| A very small smile formed on Luc's lips. She certainly knew a good amount of the school history. He nodded as she spoke, listening to her. interested. He brought his hands together after she finished. "Very, very good, Miss Lefevre. I think that deserves 5 points to Eponette, especially for the participation." He glanced around the room and at the clock, surpriosed by how little they did. "Well, the lesson is over. There is no work this time. But there will always be an opportunity for extra credit if you so wish. You can visit me any time to ask about that. Class is dismissed." he said, nodding stiffly and turning around back to his desk. House Points: Eponette- 5
Homework: none
