| Athena looked around herself and smiled. She liked this classroom. It was neat. She walked to the blackboard and wrote 'dueling' on it. She then sat down by her desk and leaned back in her chair. She was wondering what she'd be doing this lesson. Maybe have a round of introduction where the students would answer some questions? Yeah, sounds perfect. And then it would be straight to business. She looked at the door, waiting at the students to come. |

| Danielle walked into the Dueling classroom looking around. She liked the room. She went and sat up front, taking up her books and wand. She was ready to start some serious fighting. She hoped it would be as exciting as she wished it to be. |

| Athena smiled as the only student signed up for her class came in. She wondered why there were so few really. Dueling was extremely important at this time, considering the war raging on. She guessed the first years just weren't as aware of it as they should be. She sighed.
"Well, Ms. Lefevre, it seems to be just you and me. Today we shall practice on the spell 'Perrikulum'. Do you know anything about this spell?" Athena asked kindly. |

| Danielle wondered what it would be like to be the only one in this lesson, and found that she liked the thought. Maybe people would join later, but she liked the idea of being the only one, being a loner. Besides, she would learn tons more than she would've if she was alone. She felt a bit nervous when Athena asked her the question, but she thought about it. She'd heard of the spell.
"It's a spell that sends up bolts of red light, often used as a guidance spell to let people know where you are," Danielle said quietly, not one hundred percent sure. |

| Athena smiled at Danielle. "That's correct, Ms. Lefevre. Five points to Eponette," she said praisingly.
She then walked towards the door, away from the desk. "We're going to have to practice it outside, as it can cause objects to catch fire due to the heat. So, follow me, s'il vous plaƮt," she said, leaving the classroom towards the grounds near the lake. |

| Danielle felt pleased with herself for answering correctly, and gaining points to her house. She then rose as Athena walked out of the classroom. When they reached the lake, Dani turned to the educator, waiting for further instructions. |

| Athena turned to Danielle. "So, Ms. Lefevre, this is what you shall do," she said calmly.
She walked a bit away, drew her wand, and pointed it up into the air, raising her hand along with it. "Perrikulum," she said firmly and four red bullets shot into the air, exploding twenty feet in the air, the red light hanging above them for a while before slowly dispersing.
"All right, your turn. There is no handmovement in this spell, just the formula. Go ahead," she said with a smile. |

| Danielle looked at what the professor did, and then, making sure there was nothing she could hit, she raised her hand and looked up at the sky. "Perrikulum," she said firmly, and red beams shot from her wand, exploding and hanging in the air for a moment or two before vanishing.
She then turned to the professor. "Why is this important in duelling?" she asked curiously. |

| Athena smiled at the girl as she managed the spell on her first try. It wasn't a very hard spell to do, but still, she was glad she managed so quickly. She then looked at the red in the air when Danielle asked her the question of why it was important. She gave a smile as she turned to face her only student.
"It is this important, because in duelling, the first lesson is to know when you need to call for help. You can't always fight the battles you're in, but you can call for help and pray that it comes in time to save you. Duelling is not about pride, it's about brainwork. It's not an easy job, even if you are skilled at spells. You need not only be skilled at spells, but techniques and how to move your feet and timing. Timing is very important. But the time has run away from us. Class is over. Fifteen points to Eponette. Five for your answer, ten for your performance," she said kindly.
"Class dismissed." |
