Roxie pursed her lips. She was quite literally attacking the rubber band that was between her fingers. Today was just one of those days. It was raining outside, it was cold, she couldn't find her favourite hat and she'd had a nightmare about the war that night, which had kept her awake for hours, rendering her grumpy, tired, and bad-tempered today.

She was staring at the little whirring things on her desk, scowling at them because she was thinking about all the places her hat could have been, but wasn't. There was another person in the chair across the room, but he was yet to talk to her, because Roxie had already shouted at him. Roxie was a little worried about Sabrina, too, as she had grown to care for the kid and wanted her to fare well with her studies.

I'll find her a place to stay, apart from in the forest. She'll like that. That was the one thought that kept running through Roxie's mind, but she desperately wanted the girl to stay with her - her big house was very empty with just Roxie residing in it.

She sighed and chewed on her lip. Reaching up, she went to play with the little dangling parts on her hat, but realised that it was the wrong hat and almost threw it across the room in frustration. Instead, Roxie let out a noise, something like a cross between a cat hissing and the sound a kettle makes when it's over-boiling.

A little smirk quirked his lips at the Headmistress' actions. Sure, she had already shouted at him for something, but he honestly couldn't remember what. He had coined it 'one of those days' because everyone had them at some point or another. He crossed his arms, tapping his fingers on his forearms as he waited for her to speak.

He faintly wondered if she would chuck something from her desk at him if she knew that he was laughing inwardly at her reactions to things. His madam boss was a silly person, and quite adorable when she was mad. He covered a smile with his hand and chose to stay quiet.

He rather liked not having a headache, and he didn't want to get hit on the head with anything to start one.

Roxie was fuming. She was so frustrated. "I'm going to murder that hat when I find it. Murder it, resurrect it, stab it with a few needles and then drown it in water. What an inconsiderate piece of fabric," she mumbled grumpily, her eyes flashing dangerously.

The cranky Headmistress sunk further back into her big leather chair, and suddenly had the urge to throw something. She lunged forward and grabbed the clicking set of golden scales and threw it randomly. It smashed about an inch away from Dimitrius' head and Roxie stormed off, looking for somewhere to go sulk.

Dimitrius was literally rolling on the inside. What was it about his Headmistress that was so adorable? He could almost see the steam of anger rising out of her ears. He swiftly and quietly got out of his chair, following after her silently. Sure, he was a little startled when she had thrown something, but it had missed him after all. He was certain that if she was aiming for his head, he would get clocked in the face.

Placing his hands behind his back, he followed after her, not breathing a word. After all, one utter of sound could certainly set her off. And while he did appreciate her sexy temper, to have it directed at him well...that just made it even sexier but still. He really didn't wanna get hit.

Roxie swung open door after door, each one banging against the wall behind it since Roxie was really slamming them open with enough force to kill someone if they stood behind it. Considering some of them had chips of brick fall to the ground off the wall.

She barely registered her deputy following behind, and was glad he didn't say anything. She pulled out her wand and started shooting cupboard doors off their hinges, looking for the blasted hat.

Dimitri leaned against a door jamb that she had blasted open, watching her literally tear the cupboards into shreds. Those poor cupboards. He made a mental note to repair everything once it was all said and done. Was she even looking for something specific? He faintly recalled her saying the word 'hat', so if that was the case, it must have been such a special hat.

The words 'Perhaps you should be careful' died on his lips before he even said them. No, he wouldn't say anything to ire her further. It was best to let her find that blasted hat before he spoke. Besides, he was just content to watch her march around on her little tirade. It was cute.

Roxie bellowed in frustration. She whipped around in a rage to see Dimitrius leaning against the wall. "YOU LAZY BASTARD, GET UP AND HELP ME FIND THE STUPID HAT! FOR MERLIN'S SAKE!" Roxie screamed at him. She was on the verge of tears; she was so angry that she'd lost her favourite hat and just seeing Dimitrius watching her and do nothing to help ticked her off.

"That, or get out of my sight," she said with a dangerous undertone to her voice. "Because you, sir, are making me angry."

Dimitrius grinned cheekily at her. He was certain he was playing with fire here, but he didn't mind. After all, he and his boss lady got along like mac and cheese, for lack of a better term. Though he did like to see her happy rather than angry, so he figured he'd help her get the damn hat. He pushed himself off the door jamb and sauntered over to her.

"Did you ever perhaps think that someone might have taken it from you to anger you?" He replied smoothly. "Or did you happen to leave it in a classroom somewhere?"

Roxie scowled at her deputy. "I don't really care. But I do know I take much better care of my darling hats than to let someone get to it, or to leave it in a CLASSROOM, of all places!" She was fuming, and raised her wand for the umpteenth time since the hat had gone missing.

"ACCIO HAT!" Roxie cried. Nothing happened, and she growled. In a flurry of movement, she blasted a hole through the stone wall closest to her. She could see into the room next to them. Roxie stormed past Dimitrius again, knocking him as she passed.

And this is why he was her Deputy. He was always calm, level-headed, and he certainly didn't get in a tizzy if a hat was missing. He grinned to himself when Roxie knocked into his shoulder. He didn't move, if that's what she was aiming for. He didn't think she could move him even if she tried. With muscle, of course. If she happened to throw him with magic, it'd be easy. Pulling out his own wand, he silently repaired everything she broke.

He followed after her into the next room and repaired the wall as well. No sense in letting anyone else clean it up. It was why he was here after all. Take care of the Boss Lady, clean up her messes, and Merlin forbid it all, keep her happy! So where was that goddamn hat?!

Roxie huffed. Her feet were getting sore from all the walking around and she strode up to a window with a scowl on her face. Crossing her arms she stared out of it.

She examined the many trees around the castle and then something flapping in the breeze caught her eye. Roxie's mouth dropped open and her eyes flashed with anger. It was her favourite hat. But it was torn, ripped, ragged and rained on. Her wand starting spitting hot sparks and she whipped around.

"I AM GOING TO MURDER SOMEONE," she screamed as she raced down the staircase towards her hat. "AND I DON'T EVEN CARE WHO THEY ARE OR IF THEY DID THAT TO MY HAT." Roxie really just wanted to kill someone.

Dimitrius had also caught the hat in his sights, but that was the good part of magic wasn't it? She could easily fix it up. "Roxie!" He called, jogging after her. "You don't need to kill anyone since you can fix it up as good as new!" He cringed inwardly. Not the best thing to say, but it was true.

She was getting ahead of him by a good distance, so he picked up his own pace so he was at least closer to being behind her. He'd rather have an angry Highmistress hex him instead of someone else or even another student.

Roxie stopped dead in her tracks when she heard Dimitrius's comment. She turned around slowly, her wand in her hand. Suddenly it shot up and was at Dimitrius's throat, driving him backwards to a wall. Roxie cornered him then got right in his face. "How dare you," she seethed, her breath moving the tiny hairs on his face. "What kind of hat owner do you take me to be? Sure - it can be fixed as easy as this," she snapped her fingers, and the hat outside repaired itself, "but what collector lets her hat get RUINED in the FIRST PLACE?" Roxie bellowed in his face.

His eyes danced dangerously, glittering with a hint of malice and anger. It was one thing to point a wand at him, sure, he didn't mind that. However, it was another to have him retreat into a corner. He never liked backing down into corners. They made him feel vulnerable and weak, a feeling that he didn't like one bit. He straightened up to his full height, and with one finger, pushed her wand away from his throat. She was angry, he got that, but backing him into a corner was a big no.

"Perhaps," he replied icily. "That this certain collector happens to be very busy. She is running a school, keeping it safe for the children, and she doesn't have the time to be worrying over some godforsaken hat when there's practically a war going on. So you tell me just what kind of collector you are because what I'm seeing here, it's the obsessed to the point of danger kind."

Roxie huffed and crossed her arms, still shooting daggers at her deputy. She chewed the inside of her lip and turned her back on him, sticking her nose in the air childishly. "It's not godforsaken," she muttered. "It's my favourite hat. And there's nothing wrong with liking hats ... a lot!" Roxie scowled.

She didn't want to talk to Dimi any more. He was mean to her. Roxie stomped off in the direction of her hat without a second glance to see if he was following. The silent treatment would serve that bastard right.

Dimitrius smoothed out his jacket and pulled at his collar to straighten it. Damn that woman; she was as temperamental as the next. Some days he really thought that they weren't worth the trouble, but then other days, he loved the human race for giving them females. He sighed lowly and place his hands behind his back, following after Roxie at a much more quieter and relaxed pace.

So she wasn't going to talk to him then? Mah, he could do without. One way or another, she'd have to say something to him. She struck him as the kind of woman who had to be talking with someone. At least, a little bit. Nothing too big, but she'd at least have to complain about that stupid hat some more.

When Roxie finally reached her hat, she summoned it down carefully from the tree and held it in her hands. She carefully smoothed out the minuscule wrinkles it was covered in, muttering to herself about how she was going to make it all right, like she was comforting the hat more than herself. She placed the hat on her bare head and fixed it around.

Roxie licked her dry lips; she was hoarse from all the shouting. Even though she could sense Dimi was behind her, she ignored him again. She chose to do so because he was annoying her and she couldn’t help but get frustrated. Why couldn’t Dimi just sympathise with her hats?

He scratched his eyebrow and crossed his arms as he stood a bit away from Roxie. He supposed he had let his temper get the better of him. He couldn't help it really, the woman was going completely mental over some damn hat. Though, perhaps she had gotten that hat from a deceased family member? No matter what, magic was magic. It could fix most things. However, she had to be more careful.

He shook his head. Shooting down walls, book cases. Her entire temper tantrum was totally uncalled for. If a student had been walking by and had been hit...Dimitri would have solely blamed himself. After all, before his own safety and well-being was the well-being and safety of his boss. He'd do mostly anything to keep her that way - safe.

Roxie bit her lip; she hated silence. Even bickering was better than no noise at all. But she was determined. Roxie would make him crack. She knew she would. Roxie would even resort to cheating and using a talking charm if he put out too long.

Biting her lip, Roxie turned around, fixing her deputy with a challenging stare. Her arms were still crossed over her chest and she stared him down. Roxie knew she had a very intimidating presence and she often used that to her advantage - although her Dimi seemed to be able to withstand her awesomeness.

Her eyebrow rose. She wasn't going anywhere, and Roxie knew neither was Dimitrius. She didn't have to reach for her wand or use her voice to influence her magic. That's how cool Roxie was, and the thought brought a self-deserving smirk to her face.

Dimitrius moved his hands to his pockets and stared back at Roxie. Two could play at the game she was attempting to win. He'd played this game back home with Luna too many times to count, and yet he always won. He was a quiet child growing up, rarely spoke among even family members. It was how he developed his technique really.

He stepped closer to Roxie and reached out, fixing her hat so it looked better atop her head. She wanted to look her best after all, didn't she? So going inside with a crooked hat would do no good for her. No bad either really since students were scared of the Headmistress' temper.

He smiled to himself. It appeared that his job was done. He had followed her when she summoned him, and now she was obviously through with him. He bowed at the waist and straightened before he pivoted on his heel and strode off for the doors of Durmstrang. Perhaps he had more papers to grade...

Roxie scowled as Dimitrius fixed her hat. Apparently it was crooked. She was marginally grateful that he'd done so but she really couldn't care less. Taking a deep, steadying breath, Roxie watched Dimi as he bowed low and strode back to the castle.

She rolled her eyes after he'd disappeared and went her own way back to her office. She'd see him again at dinner but Roxie wasn't exactly hungry. She was still very grumpy as she clambered up the stairs and flopped down into her office chair once more, picking at the rubber band.
