Anne walked toward her room at this school. She sighed knowing she would have to spend the night here is she wanted to get all the work for the order done. She couldn't do it at home with Tessa coming and going. She was though she would kill her for saying it, weak. She couldn't handle a lot of stress.

Anne had suppressed everything for a long time. Looking back she should have known that this day would come. The day it all caught up with her.

She thought back to her whole life. From being bullied and outcast as a child to finally fitting in at Hogwarts. The death of her parents, the note for Hugo, her own stupid thinking going in the shack to meet 'Parker' The curse and the scars. The rest, the second time the fight her own nobility that had gotten her more scars and pain. The depression, the recovery her best friend. The betrayal of being ignored by Parker after all those years. Falling in love without knowing it. Being taken. All the years in hell. Being free, having DJ. Meeting Damien again. Getting married, losing her baby. Having him back. Sofia. losing Lily and getting her back.

Anne should have know it was all too much. It had always been too much. She though she was sure someone thought otherwise, was human.

Anne collapsed on the ground. All the years of suppressed emotions had finally caught up with her. It was far too much. She started sobbing hoping no one would find her like this. She never did have much luck.

Deva was in her room, having just finished an interesting book. She smiled softly to herself and rose from the window seat, moving towards the door. She wondered if there were many here now. She was thinking of leaving to her sanctuary, but she wanted to sleep first. She smiled to herself and closed the door behind her, locking it.

She had left some things in her office that she needed to fetch before she went to sleep. But when she left her room she heard something falling, and by the thump, it would be a human, most likely a woman. She blinked and rushed to the professors' quarters and felt her stomach collapse as she saw it was Anne.

"Anne!" she halfway whispered halfway yelled. She ran over to her, sat down and pulled the girl to her chest. "Oh, honey. What's wrong?" she whispered, the familiar pain she always felt when her friends were hurting rising in her chest as she felt Anne shake in her arms.

Anne leaned into Deva feeling like she was eleven again. Feeling all the pain she suppressed. She never knew how bad this would be. She had always thought it would be ok. That she couldn keep it from overwhelming her. She was wrong.

"Too much." She managed to say through her sobs and she let her old friend comfort her. She just for once wanted to be young and free of pain. She wanted to be ten again with her parents.

Deva clenched her teeth and grabbed Anne, pulling her into her lap, cradling her like a child. Of course it was too much. Everything Anne had been through. It was too much. Nothing like this should have ever happened to a person. Especially a person as good and kind as Anne. "It's okay, just cry. Cry and cry, I'll keep you safe," she whispered, rocking a bit back and forth.

She honestly didn't understand how people could take all this. It just wasn't probable. Nothing like this should ever happen to anyone. Everyone who were kind and fair should have a chance at a good life. Karma... There was no such thing as karma. Karma could go suck it. Deva felt tears leaking down her own face, crying for the pain of her friend.

"You're going to be all right. Just cry, just let it out. I'll be here," Deva kept murmuring.

Anne sobbed into her chest. It reminded her of the first time she met Haley. She had comforted her then too. She felt a lot of affection to her, still comforting her after all this time. She wished she could go back in time and change it all.

"Why me?" She managed to sob through her tears. "Wh-at did I ever do?" She sobbed out. She had no clue why everything happened to her. She almost wished that he had ended it all when she was eleven.

Deva swallowed painfully at her words. She shook her head and squeezed Anne's shoulders. "I don't know," she whispered, "It's not fair."

She really wished she could take away Anne's pain. Take some of it as her own. Anne was so important to her. Not only was she one of her best friends, she was also the only one who knew that Deva was Haley. And just the fact that Anne still kept that a secret made Deva love her all the more.

"This should never have happened to you. You're too good. You shouldn't have suffered what you have," Deva whispered, feeling absolutely helpless at the moment.

Anne just sobbed. Why was it her, why not someone who had done something bad. She had not done anything horrible in her life. She hadn't even been selfish in the slightest since she was eleven. It just wasn't fair. She hatted it more than she would like to admit. She wished this didn't have to happen to her.

Anne just shook her head. She wasn't good. She knew it couldn't be karma, the only thing she had done that was evil was kill her own monster. She wasn't perfect nor good. She was just her.

Anne just sat there her sobs slowly fading away. She could breath normally again, though silent tears still made their way down her cheeks.

"I'm tired of monsters. I've lived with them all my life. Why do they go after me?" She asked. She wasn't special in any way. She could see the future that was all. She shook her head, she shouldn't be hunted for that.

Deva held onto Anne and wondered how someone so petite could cope with so much horror. She bit her lip and wondered how the world could be ruled by something that was good when so much bad happened. Maybe the world only was ruled by the will of humans and no God or anything. That would explain why it was horrible. But at the same time, it would take away all meaning of life when one ended up dead either way.

She felt Anne calming a bit down, though the tears were still pouring down her face. Deva smiled softly at her, trying to comfort her like that too, though she was pretty sure it was futile. She dragged her fingers through Anne's hair and dried some tears that were quickly replaced with new ones.

"I don't know. They shouldn't. You shouldn't be haunted by monsters. You're too good for them," Deva said, "But you're still young. Time can still change. I mean, look at your family. They're wonderful. Not to mention you're gonna have a new kid, who is gonna have a brilliant godmother, if I may say so."

Deva hoped the thought of Anne's family would lighten her mood a bit. She even cracked a light joke, though maybe not the best in the world.

Anne managed to calm down. She was glad it was Deva that found her, not someone else. She didn't have anything to hide from the woman in front of her. She was hiding her secret from everyone else.

She smiled at the mention of her family and shook her head. Why was it always her. "Why can't we just have peace for once?" She asked hoping at the same time that if she said it, it might happen.

"He took everything Deva, everything. I just want some of it back." She said wishing she could vanish the scars. For once she was happy DJ wasn't near. She couldn't stand the idea of having a reminder of another thing he took.
