| Deva was running. It was dark all around her and trees were closing in on her. She didn't know what was happening. All she knew was that she couldn't turn and look behind her. She knew that if she did, she would be dead. So she had to run. But then she tripped and something cold grabbed her torso.
Deva woke with a startle. She rose abruptly in bed to find out where she was. It took a few seconds before she realized she had been dreaming. It had been so vivid. She breathed heavily for a few seconds before falling back into her cushions. She closed her eyes and tried to fall back asleep, but she was too, gods help her, scared to sleep. She rose and walked on her bare feet down to the professor's quarters, taking on a night robe in the process. She sat down at a table and waved her wand, a cup and warm milk coming towards her.
She sipped on it for a while, trying to calm her nerves. But her heart was still racing as if she had truly been running. She sighed and took a mouthful, managing to burn her tongue in the process. She cursed lowly, and jumped sky high when she heard something. She instantly looked towards the stairs, but she couldn't see anything. She wasn't even sure where the sound had come from. Her heart instantly sped up.

Alcyone was still awake though it was the very early hours of the morning. Sleep had been completely lost on her due tithe fact that she had two babies that were constantly crying and a fascinating book to read. She'd managed to calm Andy and Leo down this time with a lullaby, and they'd both drifted off into sleep. Se smiled only and rested her arms on the edge of their cot, watching their peaceful faces as they ran off to a wonderful land of dreams. She went over to her Queen bed and kisses Capella gently on the forehead. She'd placed a charm around Capella to keep the sounds of her siblings crying out so she could sleep in peace.
There was no reason for the strange pull to crop up, but it did. The last time shed followed the pull, she'd been taken to Princess Poison's night club and made a friend in one of her co-workers, Deva. She went over to her bed and relaxed on it, picking up et book and chosen to read it until she was overcome with her tiredness. It wasn't long before the pull became stronger. She slid her bookmark on place and put the book on her bedside table. She stood up and slid her feet into baby blue slippers, a matching robe pulled on as well to keep her warm.
She opened the door and saw a figure sitting by the fire. The figure turned and stared at something, before turning back around once more. Silently, Alcyone walked down the stairs and over to the other armchair by the fireplace. Why did the pull always lead her to Deva? What was so special about her? Alcyone sat down. "Mornig Deva. Something the matter?" the other woman seemed a little on edge. Alcyone frowned in concern. |

| Deva couldn't explain how relieved she was when she saw it was Alcyone walking down the steps. She wanted to go and hug her, but as always, sat back and relaxed. She really looked forward to the note she'd be getting from Athena. When that happened, Deva would get to kill him, destroy him, make him pay for what he had done to her. And then she could hug Alcyone as much as she wanted to.
"Oh, I'm fine. Sleep just wasn't my friend tonight," she said cryptically with a small smile on her lips. She did feel better, but the feeling of something being behind her was still clear in her mind. She just couldn't shake it.
"What about you? Why are you awake in this early hour?" she asked softly. |
