| Un-like Beauxbaton's and Hogwart's, Durmstrang does NOT have houses. Instead, they are split into two different dormitories, the 'West Wing dormers', and the 'Tower Dormers'. This is not to say that they are randomly split, but they do not have houses and histories behind them, they are just split based on two key traits. The Tower Dormers Above is the crest of the Tower Dormers. This is the dormitories of those with quick-wit and intelligence. When they are sorted, these people chose the book and not the sword. This is not to say they are not brave, but they are far more intelligent then strong, like the West Wing dormers. The West Wing Dormers
 The crest of the West Wing dormers symbolizes their strength. These people chose the sword in the sorting ceremony, and they have chosen it because they are brave and strong. They may also have intelligence like the Tower Dormers, but are braver and stronger than they are intelligent. |
