Alexandre was raised in a family where blood was the most important thing. Love was the least important. Alex is, though a very strong person, very smart, and he can strategize whatever one should want him to. Of course, he doesn't listen to many people but himself. However, though he is stuck up and blood is very important to him, he is also a very kind person. He cares a lot about the people that appreciates him and he would die fighting for friends. But he just doesn't socialize enough to have very many of them.

Though his father's name is Brock, he chose the name Grindelwald from his mother for what he thinks is obvious reasons. His parents were never married. Actually, they were never even together.
