Clara waltzed into her charms classroom. She hoped no one would be late this lesson as she particularly enjoyed teaching basic light charms. They were simple, fun, easy to use, very useful and always - as she tended to find - the best way to start teaching charms to a brand new class of brilliant minds.
Hoping they would be as excited as she was, Clara grabbed a piece of chalk and neatly wrote up "Lumos" on the blackboard. There was no specific movement for this spell, as simple as it was in all it's luminescent glory, which is what she loved about it so much.
The students started to dribble in and she smiled warmly as they took their seats. Waiting until the chatter died down, she stood up to speak. "Good morning, first years, and welcome to your first Charms lesson. My name is Professor O'Keefe and I intend to be your Charms professor for a very long time to come. Today we are studying basic light charms, and since it's the first lesson, you don't really have any homework, but if you'd like to you may wish to do some extra reading on Magical Luminescence."
Clara smiled and pulled out of her pocket a small pocket watch, opened it and allowed all of the lights in the room to zoom into it before snapping it shut. "Right," she called into the gloom. "I want you to light up the classroom using this charm. It is very simple, and all of you should get it by the end of the lesson," she instructed.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Get cracking!" Clara grinned and shoved the watch back into her pocket and watched the students practice the spell.
