Deva walked into the classroom with a slight smile on her face. Today they would be learning the shielding charm Protego, and she was looking forward to it. She positioned herself between the desk and the blackboard, never having been one for sitting down when holding a lesson, not even while waiting.

Once the students had arrived she looked at them and gave them a small smile. "All right, listen up everyone. Today we will be learning the spell 'Protego'. Can anyone tell me what spell this is and what effect it has?" she asked them.

Jamie troddled along to her lesson with a sigh. She was bored of lessons and found them slightly repetitive. That was a lie, of course, she adored her lessons but for the moment she was in a foul mood and believed them all stupid. She'd had a tiring day and was glad that DADA was the last lesson of the day. She walked inside the classroom and took a seat, waiting impatiently for Rubi so she could ask her twin if she'd like to study with her afterwards.

Olivia head to her DADA lesson and couldn't wait to get there. She walked into the classroom and took a seat. Then her teacher said that they will be learning the spell 'Protego' she was excited. She knew all about that spell as she read about it a few days ago. So after her teacher asked what that spell is and it's effect she raised her hand and said "Protego is a shield charm and it causes jinxes, curses and hexes to rebound upon the attacker, or at least prevent them from having their full effect. It can also cause a shield to erupt from the caster's wand." She always get excited to answer questions and it has always been her bad habit because people will call her a know it all.

Carey walked into the room noticing the two girls in the room. He sighed. It seemed Jamie was in every freakin one. He took his in the front so he could see as he listened to the know-it-all slytherin. It was good, as it would get them points, but it would be better if she didn't sound like she was verbally vomiting up a passage from the text book.

Meliae walk through the door quietly listening to what the teacher was going on about.She listening quietly what the teacher went on about this subject about the shield spell and she was rather quiet listening to the teacher she was quiet as she listen to the teacher.

Humphrey Williams was on time for his Defense Against the Dark Arts. He took a seat in the middle of the classroom and got out parchment, quill, inkpot, and his book for this class. Then he looked up and saw the word Protego written on the board. It was one of the terms he had come across when he was reading his school books during the summer. This time he knew what it was.

He was about to raise his hand, but then he noticed that a student sitting in the room had a wide grin. Sadly, he suspected he was too late, and she had already answered the question. Oh well, maybe next time, Humphrey thought to himself.

Halcyon walked into the classroom and saw Carey there, and a new guy. A Ravenclaw. He shrugged and took a seat next to him. "Hey, I'm Halcyon, nice to meet you," he said kindly, and then turned his attention to the professor as she asked a question.

He knew the answer, but was too slow at raising his hand before a Slytherin had done so, and sounded like a book while chatting. He had to smile a bit at that and then turned to the professor again, knowing that had been a very good answer.

"Hello, I'm Humphrey. Pleasure meeting you Halycon." he said. Then Humphrey turned his attention back to the professor. He was finally starting to make friends here at Hogwarts. And it was making him feel less lonely. The spell Protego was a shield charm, and they were about to learn how to cast it. Definitely excited about learning the defensive spell, he looked at the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor eagerly.

Deva smiled at Olivia. "Very good Ms. Harrison. Five points to Slytherin," she said.

She then looked at the clock and frowned. "Seems our time is up. Next lesson we will use this against another spell we will learn, so prepare for a tiny bit of dueling," she said calmly.

"Class dismissed."
