| Pyxis sat at the front of her classroom, head sore from a hectic weak. She yawned tiredly and rubbed at her eyes. Her chest ached a little still, but that was to be expected after she'd had a heart-attack and then such traumatic events. She was still concerned about what to do with Noah, though she believed she had a solution. Pyxis shook her head, for now was not the time to dwell on such matters. She had a class to teach. Pyxis waited until all the students had arrived before she began the lesson. Pyxis walked up to the board and began to write down the instructions in clear, easy to read print script rather than her usual messy scrawl. She bit her lip with every word as Pyxis hated the sound of chalk on a chalkboard. She cringed as it squeaked but kept going until the end. She then motioned to the table set up at the front with the ingredients on it. "You may begin to brew the Antidote to Common Poisons potion, a difficult brew. Points will be given out to the best potion." Pyxis sat down. She pulled out a piece of parchment and composed a letter. [[OOC: The best potion will be decided on the quality, quantity and accuracy of the post you make.]] |

| Jamie hummed to herself as she sorted through her trunk in wild pursuit of her bag. If she couldn't find it, she'd have to carry everything around to her lessons and that wasn't something she was keen on doing. She pulled out socks, clothing, everything her hands could find until she reached the very bottom of the trunk - and there it was. She pulled it out with a happy grin and spent the next half an hour neatly placing everything back inside her trunk. She stood up and cracked her aching back, relief clear on her features. Her bag filled with gear, she walked along to the dungeons.
She shivered as she reached them and frowned at the chill that enveloped her. Taking a seat at the front, she looked at the board and waited until they teacher finished before she moved up to the front and gathered what she could. It only took one more trip to get the rest of her ingredients, and then she was brewing away.
She placed the bezoar in the mortar, before her hand gripped the pestle and she took her time to carefully ground the bezoar into the finest powder. She made sure that everything was soft and roughly the same size before she placed her pestle down. She took her time to measure out the correct amount of bezoar powder. She added each to the cauldron. Her eyes flickered back to the board to check what was next, before she continued her work. She was already bored and let out a sigh. She measured out the standard ingredient and added this also, her nose wrinkled at the horrid smell that swirled up and out of her potion and polluted the air. Mixed in with the other potions, the room wasn't the loveliest smelling but it was tolerable. She turned the heat up to medium and counted to five before flicking it off. She picked up her wand and waved it over the potion.
30 minutes? She raised her eyebrows in disbelief and let out an even more bored sigh. It seemed they had free reign for the next 30 minutes, and she decided to catch up on her homework. She pulled out her textbook, parchment, ink and a quill. She dipped the quill int he ink and began to write in her loopy scrawl. She'd added three more inches to the parchment - measured and everything - when she realised her time was up. She packed up quickly and returned her attention to the potion. She pinched up the pre-powdered unicorn horn and drizzled that over the potion. In response to the new addition, the putrid smell suddenly stopped, and the dark green potion changed to a silvery colour. It was far more attractive than before. She picked up the spoon and stirred twice clockwise. She turned her direction around and swirled twice in the opposite direction once more. She waved her wand over her potion and raised her hand. |

| Olivia woke up early and decided to catch up on her homework. Then, she took a shower and arranged her books for her classes. She headed towards potions and took a sit. She saw what her teacher was writing on the board and she was happy because she had always wanted to learn how to make that potion.
She took the ingredients and starts to make the potion. She placed the bezoar into the mortar and crushed it carefully until it turns into a very fine powder. She added 4 measures of the powder into the cauldron carefully to make sure that she did not put any less or more than needed. Then, she added 2 measures of standard ingredients to the cauldron and heat the cauldron on medium temperature for 5 seconds. Next, she waved her wand and leave the potion to brew for 30 minutes.
To kill time Olivia decided to read a muggle book that her mother gave her for her birthday. It was really interesting and funny. When 30 minutes past, Olivia get back to her potion. She added a pinch of unicorn horn to her potion and stir her potion clockwise twice and anticlockwise twice. Then, she waved her wand and looked quite satisfied with her potion. Realizing she finished her potion, she raised her hand. |

| Carey rolled out of bed, running his hand through his short hair. He went to his trunk, which was propped up in the corner of the room, a part raising it from the floor so it was more like a wardrobe. He opened it up, pulling out his clothes, taking his time to dress, not letting a crease stay were it was. He was always a tad obsessive about looking sharp. After dressing he grabbed his bag with all his stuff in it. He slung it over his shoulder and made his way out of the room, standing straight and looking tense. Going down the stairs he rubbed his eyes, taking a breath of the crisp, chilled air of the dungeons. He walked out form the common room into the corridor and down to the class room which was only a short walk away. The one class he was very thankful to have in the morning since he didn't have to take any long trips up stairs.
He rolled his eyes as he walked in, only seeing Jamie. He took his seat in the front so he could see the board. He squinted a bit as the professor stopped writing. It was a good day for his eyes it seemed. And it was early, so his eyes didn't feel stressed to see either. Reading that they'd be brewing the Antidote to Common Poisons, he took out his textbook, opening it to the page with the same instructions so he could more easily see it. He looked over it, remembering the ingredients. He got up from his seat after Jamie, sneering at her as she went back to her seat passing him. He picked up his ingredients, taking two trips to get everything.
He set up everything in an order that would make everything quick and easy to grab. He wanted to do well on this potion, wanting to impress the teacher. Though a part inside him nagged, why bother? He'd never compare to his brother, so what was the use in trying? He bit on his lip as he pulled forward the mortar and pestle and reached his hand out to grab the bezoar. He tossed it up and grabbed it again before placing it in the mortar. The process of crushing up the bezoar took a lot longer for him then it did for Jamie. He had to take several breaks as his arms tired easily. When he decided himself done, the powder was still a tad bit lumpy and not as thin as Jamie's. He took four measure of the powder which he did a lot faster then Jamie and put it into his potion.
He pulled forward the container of standard potion and took two measures of the familiar smelling ingredient. As he poured it into the cauldron he wrinkled his nose only because this reminded him of his brother, all his clothes smelled like this crap. He pushed the container back and flicked on the heat, counting as he looked over to Jamie who was still a bit ahead of him and was already waiting her time. He quickly looked back to the cauldron and flicked the heat off, worried he may have let it go a second too long.
He raised his wand waving it lightly over the lip of the cauldron. He sighed and since he was standing, he plopped down into his seat. He leaned over the book. This was going to be a damn long thirty minutes... He raised his hand for his fingers to touch his slightly stinging lip. Bringing his hand back down he sighed. His lip had been bleeding slightly from chewing it in concentration. He groaned and spent most of his time just looking at the room or picking at his nails. He looked up when another Slytherin walked in that he'd not met before. He looked over to Jamie and noticed she was starting with the next part of the potion. He then got up again, starting shortly after her, grabbing the dusted horn. He put in a pinch that he hopped was not too small and watched it dissolve. He grabbed the stirrer and put it into the cauldron, mixing the contents two times clockwise and two times anti-clockwise. He smiled a bit as the colour changed, but looking over again he noticed it wasn't as bright as Jamie's and he frowned. He took the stirrer out and set it down before raising his wand again. He looked at the cauldron and waved his wand over the cauldron again. He then sat back down, raising his hand after Jamie had, glaring. |

| Meliae hate this class she dread going here the potion class it was not she did bad in it she did okay. She just hate the teacher it seemed liked the teacher did not liked her and no she was not muggle born even if the teacher thought she was in half blood. Her mother had been witch and her father had been muggle. All the same she was not pureblood and so the school thought she was pureblood. Her mother used to go to hogwart when she was younger and was pureblood witch. Then again she thought of skipping the class but here she was seating at the desk listening to the group hopeful Carey would not get angry over something stupid liked the last time.
As she look up at the instructed she went about writing out add one bezoar and then crush the powder and four measured to the potion, add two measure of the standard ingredient and heat up for five minutes, then she wrote some wave out your wand for third minutes, add pinch of the unicorn horn and stir it counterclockwise, then twice anti clockwise. Then wave wand as well and she look down the last bit she thought was something she did not need to write down. That was how she remember everything in cause she had test she could check her notes all the same without there books. She read somewhere that person who take notes find it easy to remember things.
After she got everything written down on the subject then she put at the antidote to common poison. Then she look back and then she start on the task of the potion that she first start to one bezaor, then she start to put in the crush powder that was four within the potion. Then she two standard ingredient and then she start to heat it for five minutes. This gave her some time to check over her notes. Then she wave her wand for 30 minute in which case she did for awhile. Then she grab up the unicorn hor she add and she went about stir it counterclockwise and then anticlockwise and wave wand.
But she kinda wish she list how long to wave it or for that matter before raising her hand. She check over her note again just to make sure that she did everything correct before raising her hand as well. She was not after any points for that matter she just want to get done and all the same she hope she did it right.
Then she saw his glared Carey glared all the same just better keep glared and not started some stupid fight for what it was worth. Please no more silly fight over something dumb she hope not. That was only wish that was no silly fight and for what it was worth that fighting and she look around she hope she did it right all the same. |

| Brewing potions was what he was doing in the dungeon. Humphrey had to brew an antidote to common poisons today. He sat down in a seat near the back of the class, and began his work on it. First, he added a bezoar to his mortar. Next, he ground it into a fine powder and then added four measures to his potion. After that he measured out two measures of the standard ingredient and poured it into the heating potion. The heat was set on medium, and he slowly counted to five seconds under his breath As soon as he hit five second he turned the heat off.
He looked up at the board. Wave wand over potion and leave to brew for 30 minutes. Pulling out his wand, Humphrey waved it slowly over the potion. Then he looked at the clock and wrote down the time current time. And the time half an hour from now. And he waited, and waited, until the clock struck the thirty minute mark past when he waved his wand over the potion.
The instructions said next to add 1 pinch of unicorn horn. His kit of ingredients was already out, and he pinched the ground unicorn horn powder and put it into his potion. Everything had been going well so far. Next, he was to stir twice clockwise and twice anti-clockwise. He checked the clock to assure himself he was going in the right direction. When he was positive he was he stirred twice clockwise, and then twice in the opposite direction, anti-clockwise.
Humphrey Williams looked up at the board one more time. It said to wave his wand over the potion. He did so, and then he looked at the board and raised his hand. The potion was complete, and he hoped that it was done correctly.

| Pyxis watched with narrowed eyes as her students worked. They were doing quite well, and she felt a smile grow on her face as she noted this. Despite how weary she had been the last few weeks, seeing her students doing so well made her feel warm inside. She continued to scribble down on parchment and write notes of their progress to grade them on their efforts. She hummed softly to herself, and before she knew it the lesson was over. She looked up as she saw several hands in the air and she stood up quickly. She moved past the ingredients table and down to the first row. She inspected Jamie's potion and nodded her head. It was quite good, not perfect, but good, especially for a first year student.
"Excellent, Jamie, 5 points to Hufflepuff," she said with an approving smile. Pyxis then moved along to the next student with their hand in the air - a Ravenclaw. She looked over his potion and shook her head, clucking her tongue. It was the complete wrong colour. She continued through the students and soon reached Carey. She inspected his and picked up the spoon, dipping it in hesitantly. The potion reacted as she had expected, and began to sizzle around the spoon. She pulled it out and placed it down on the table. "This is very, very good, Mr. Matthews, 15 points to Slytherin," she nodded her head and walked along. She came into a halt in front of Olivia now.
She looked at her potion and crossed her arms, her eyes narrowed in concentration as she inspected it. Right colour, wrong odour however. It still didn't smell as neutral as it was meant to, but rather had a nasty after-taste. "No points, but a good effort, Ms. Harrison," she nodded her head and flashed her a small smile. Meliae's was good also. "5 points to Ravenclaw," she said approvingly. Finally, she stopped in front of Humphrey. "Good." She nodded her head and walked back up to the front. "Class dismissed."
