| Danielle reached the fields, feeling free like so many times before. Though she usually wasn't allowed to go to Germany due to the war, she still went with the train. Running away from home. She needed to do that sometimes. She didn't know why, but her parents were always surrounded by those ghosts she saw, and she really needed to get away from them. She then scouted the area, and, positive that no one was around, she started running.
She ran for a long time, jumping and turning and doing weird piruettes as well as wheeling. She was happy. She usually wasn't. The ghosts really weren't pleasing. They weren't the normal, seethrough ghosts that roamed old castles or houses, but the type that had moved on, but weren't accepted into heaven or whatever lay waiting in the afterlife.
When she had been running for what felt like heavenly hours, she threw herself down on the fields, looking up at the blue sky. Some clouds were there, and she studied them, wondering what she'd see in them. Then something caught her leg, and someone fell over her. |

| Alexandre was walking calmly through the fields, thinking about nothing at all when he tripped. His foot was stuck in something and before he knew it, he had fallen over a random girl. He shot up again and looked down at the girl who looked completely shocked with a furious blush.
"What the hell, girl?!" he yelled annoyed, "You can't just lie down here! Bloody..."
He stopped talking and looked angrily down at her. Lying in the field wasn't the smartest thing to do, considering how the grass was cut at times. And people wouldn't have seen the girl, they'd have killed her before they could stop anything. What a bloody ignorant fool. |

| Dani yelled something incoherent when the guy fell onto her and she pushed him away and sat up, getting ready to run for it. Then she noticed the blush, and she bit her lip not to grin or blush herself.
Then he spoke in German. She knew German, so that was good for her, but still, it was a bit of a jump to go from French to German sometimes.
"Says you! Maybe you should start watching where you're going!" she retorted in the same manner as him.
What was it with her and meeting new people? They all either fell back, bumped into each other, or fell down. Dani shot up, noticing she was about as tall as him. She narrowed her eyes.
"Merde," she said, and turned to walk away. |

| Alex narrowed his eyes at the nerve of this girl. Shouting at him? Not a good idea. He clenched his teeth when she told him to watch where he was going.
"I was, but unless it escaped your notice, this grass is high! No one would see you, not wearing ... that!" he said annoyed, looking at her clothes.
Her top was white and her trousers were green. They mixed in perfectly with the grass. Of course he wouldn't be able to see her. His eyes narrowed even further when she rose and looked at him with equally narrowed eyes.
When she turned to walk away, he had every intention in letting her. Then she said 'merde'. He instantly tensed. He then seized her wrist.
"You're French," he said, menace in his voice.
He pulled her harshly towards him. |

| Dani hated to admit it to herself, but the guy had a point. She didn't answer him, something that would be a confirmation that he was right, something she didn't like, but she ignored it.
When she started to walk away, he grabbed her wrist. Her head snapped towards him when he said she was French. Dani felt a wave of both annoyance and panic rush through her as he pulled her towards him so harshly that she lost balance and stumbled into him.
She straightened up as quickly as she could. "Idiot! Watch what you're doing!" she snapped at him, feeling a blush creep into her face, not happy about that either.
"Let me go!" she snapped when he didn't let her wrist go free. |

| Alexandre smirked as the girl had nothing to say when he pointed out what kinds of clothes she wore. He knew it would vex her even more to let her know that he knew that he was right and she couldn't object.
But when Alex pulled her back harshly, she stumbled and thrust into his chest. He stiffened slightly, and then she pulled back, still standing fairly close, due to the fact that he was still holding her wrist. She demanded for him to let her go, but he ignored it. Or, rather, he didn't hear it. He was mesmerized. Something about her eyes were so staggering. He tilted his head to the side slightly, and his free hand moved to her blonde hair. |

| The guy wasn't listening to her, that was clear. His gaze was so sharp as he looked at her. His eyes looked like the glissning ocean itself. She felt a creepy feeling of fright reaching for her, and she knew that this was a guy that freaked the poopie out of her.
When his hand reached for her hair, her eyes widened considerably. She slapped it away.
"What the hell?!" she snapped, trying to wrench out of his grip, but he was way too strong.
It was actually pretty weird how strong he was. She couldn't understand why. But she wanted to get away. Quickly. |

| Alexandre's hand was slapped away and when she screamed at him, he snapped out of his daze, but he didn't let go of her hand.
"You're French. You don't belong here," he said coldly.
He turned around and started walking to his home, still holding onto the girl, not letting her go. He had a feeling his mother would be pleased with him now. He smirked. And not a minute too late, he was leaving to Durmstrang soon. |

| "Are you crazy?!" she screamed at him when he started walking to God knows where.
"I might be French, but I'm German too! Let me go!" she yelled, trying as hard as she could to wrench free, but he wouldn't drop her wrist.
"Let - me - GO!" Dani shrieked.
She managed to stop, him with her, and then she kicked him in his back. Not a good idea. She kicked him so hard, apparently, that he lost his balance and fell, still holding Dani, and she once again fell onto him. |

| Alex ignored her cries to let her go, and just kept walking. But then she stopped and he hadn't expected that. Just as he was about to turn to drag her with him again, a foot connected with his back and he lost his balance, being in a half turn, and he fell. Not a second after, the girl fell on top of him, knocking his breath out, but he didn't let her go.
He then frowned. "How can you possibly be both German and French?" he snapped. |

| Dani rolled off him, when she noticed he wouldn't let her go, and rolled her eyes at his stupid question.
"Well, when a man loves a woman, which happens quite frequently, they have a need to do something more to be content with the other. The man may be German and the woman may be French, or the other way around," Dani said in a baby-tone. |

| Alex growled at the girl. "Don't talk to me like I'm stupid," he snarled.
He didn't like this girl, but he agreed in his silent mind that it had been a stupid question.
"Well, I guess you saved yourself from having to meet my family then," he said coolly.
She wouldn't have liked her parents. They were rather ... cruel towards French people. Age or gender didn't matter at all to them, something Alex didn't see the problem with either. It was all for the greater good anyway. |

| "Then don't act stupid," she hissed back.
He was annoying, she didn't like him. He got on her last nerves. She had, however, finally been released from his grip. She narrowed her eyes when he came with what she found to be an empty threat.
"Well, you haven't met my family either," she growled, "Don't be such a dick, okay? Try to have some manners, or is the phrase unknown to you?" |

| Alex hissed at her. "Don't push your luck," he snarled.
He looked at her with narrowed eyes as she asked him if he even knew what manners were. She was annoying. Truly very annoying. So why hadn't he just walked away?
"Of course I know what manners are! You fool, don't think me so little!" he shouted. |

| Dani snorted. "My luck? Curse my luck! I met you!" she snapped.
She turned and started to walk away, but she found herself hoping, despite herself, that he'd hold her back.
"You have no manners, idiot, if you did, you'd know how to treat a lady," she said coolly and kept walking. |

| Alex raised an eyebrow as the girl started to walk away. He wanted to hold her back and make her realize how stupid she was, playing the part of a know-it-all.
"Don't be so ridiculous! You have no manners yourself, and drawing up the card of how to treat a woman is just what girls with no back-bone do!" he snapped at her. |

| Dani stopped. She knew it had been too easy to infuriate her, but she looked for every excuse to turn back and talk with the guy. So she turned around with angry eyes and ran at him, jumping at him, forcing him down to the ground.
"Me? Ridiculous?! Fine, you have a bloody point, but don't think that gives you an excuse to your rudeness! You were the one who started this!" she shouted at him, sitting on him, keeping him down.
She wanted to punch him, but at the same time, she wouldn't want to hurt him at all. She didn't know why. She was anything but a pacifist really, she had punched people who deserved it before, and this guy absolutely did. But she couldn't make herself do it. |

| What he said had infuriated the girl so much that she practically pounced upon him, knocking him to the ground. If it hadn't been so soft, he was sure his breath would be knocked out for a few seconds. She shouted at him, looking like she could punch him, but she didn't. Maybe it was manners? He almost snorted at that.
"Oh, yeah? Blaming me for starting it? Real mature," he retorted annoyed trying to get away from her.
Then he figured that infuriating her further wouldn't be the best thing he could do right now. She might actually punch him.
"Just get off me," he said with restrained calm. |

| Dani was that close to hitting him when he tried to calm himself down and asked her to get off him. Or more like ordered her to. Dani ignored him and simply started angrily into his eyes. They were fiercly blue, almost like the ocean. But she refused to think about how pretty he was, because he was pretty, there was no denying that. But no matter how pretty a person was, nothing would ever trumph kindness and a good personality. Something this guy obviously didn't have.
"I'm not getting off, all right? So just stop struggling," she said calmly.
She figured she might as well start over again, knowing that she had indeed been slightly unreasonable. She took a deep breath and let it out.
"I'm Danielle," she said indifferently, looking at him to see what he'd react to that. |

| Alex narrowed his eyes at her, but decided to take her advice. He wasn't getting anywhere anyways. He noticed how she looked deeply into his eyes, knowing she was stricken by how blue they were. He didn't say anything, he didn't smirk, he just put his face in a complete monotone. Then she told him her name. He blinked, and his mask was gone. Truthfully, he wasn't the best at pokerfaces.
"So?" he wanted to ask, but refrained from doing so. What would it do if he retorted rudely? It wouldn't change anything. So he simply grit his teeth. He didn't like that this girl was changing her movements, but decided to step ahead of her.
"I'm Alexandre Grindelwald," he said, curious about what reaction she'd have to that name. |

| Dani tensed. Grindelwald? As in related to Gellert Grindelwald? That cruel, horrible person who had been the worst in the world save for Voldemort? No way. She couldn't believe it. She clenched her teeth.
"No wonder you don't have manners," she mumbled and got off him.
She rose calmly and turned away from him. She really didn't want to make an enemy out of the Grindelwald family. Truth was that she didn't even know there was a family. She had believed Gellert was the only one. Obviously, she was mistaken. Or at least that was what it seemed like.
"As in related to Gellert Grindelwald?" she finally asked. |

| Alex smirked when she stiffened. When she got off him, he rose and dusted off his clothes. She had turned her back to him and seemed to be thinking like mad. He didn't care about the statement she had thrown at him, though he had a feeling that it had only been meant as a fact, not as an insult.
When she asked if he meant that he was related to Gellert his smirk widened. He walked over to Danielle and looked wherever she was looking.
"Absolutely. He was my great-great-grandfather," he said proudly.
Thought Alex agreed that many of the things Gellert had done were absolutely horrible, the man had done what was needed to make the world a better place. That was his ideal. Of course, he had a bad point in making it, and it was so bad that he brought on the most skilled wizard in the world to bring on his demise. |

| Dani frowned when he walked up to her.
"You shouldn't be proud at that," she said lowly, "He was a horrible person."
She couldn't stand Gellert Grindelwald and what he had stood for, no way. She couldn't believe that Alexandre was too blind to see that. She wondered what kind of life he led back home.
"I'm glad Albus Dumbledore defeated him," Dani said, not caring about whether or not that would anger Alexandre so badly that he'd hurt her.
She was speaking the truth. Dumbledore was the greatest man to have ever lived, only trumphed by Harry Potter himself. But there was no doubt that Dumbledore had been the strongest of all. |

| Alex rolled his eyes. He didn't care what this girl thought, but he didn't like it when she cursed the pure blood that flowed in his veins.
"I know that, but I'm proud nonetheless. He was a crude person, indeed, but the truth about Gellert is that he fought for what he believed in. Nothing more, nothing less," he said coldly, "And he never backed down before that old geezer did defeat him."
Alex had no real thoughts about Dumbledore. The man had been a great person, but he was nothing to anyone in his family. Alex knew that Gellert had looked up to Dumbledore, so Alex had no problems looking up to Dumbledore as well, but he didn't want to look up to anyone, and therefore he didn't care what people said about any great witch or wizard, as long as it wasn't his own blood-line.
"You haven't told me your last name," he then remarked. |

| Dani could see Alexandre's point, but she didn't care for it. She didn't like it either. Gellert had been too cruel. He wanted a world he could rule, and wanted to take the will from people. Though it might have made a better world, it wasn't good enough. As they say; it's not so much the destination as it is the journey.
"I don't like him either way," she said stubbornly, "He had too cruel methods."
She looked out over the fields. It was so beautiful. She had really missed this place, truly. What had it been? Five years since she could walk her freely, unafraid of being French? She then blinked as he requested her last name. She figured it was only fair, though she didn't quite trust him.
"Lefevre," she merely said.
