More Information

Athena is the last living relative of the Gaunt family, namely Voldemort and others. Her great-grandmother was raped by Morpheus and got pregnant, giving birth to Athena's grandmother. Her father, from the Gaunt family as well, died during a sabotage of the Germans, and her mother remarried, giving birth to her half-sister with no relations to the Gaunt family except through Athena, Valerie. The two of them are very close, Valerie being a very young girl on ten years.

Athena was given her name because she was born in Athen when her family lived in Greece. She was conceived by a statue of the goddess, and this taken as a sign from her mother and a good laugh from her father, she was named Athena. They moved to France when she was six and they have lived there ever since.

When her mother remarried, Athena refused to take her new husbands name, Jacques, because she felt it would be an insult to her father to call herself something else. But Henri, her step-father, is someone Athena trusts fully.

As a relative of Salazar Slytherin, Athena speaks parseltongue.
