Alec wanted to pull her into a kiss, he wanted to just cling to her and forgive all of her errors and mistakes, but he didn't want to. It would be foolish if he did, what was the saying "once a cheater always a cheater"? He didn't want to think on that, he needed time.

"I-I need to go" he whispered.

Despite his protest he leaned in and kissed her cheek as a goodbye. He didn't want to, but he craved contact. He lingered for a second taking in her scent before pulling back.
